This is all we have for a "legit" Black Widow plot hole? Man, it makes me long for the WW84 days where I was feasting on a veritable buffet of shit story mechanics. Too bad that young Scarlet wasn't a WWI fighter pilot that spontaneously learned how to pilot a jet fighter manufactured in the early 19 and 80s. Hee hee hee... Hee hee hee. I mean seriously, no offense but Alexi was right there and wasn’t on the wing when they landed, meaning he had made it into the plane. There isn’t a stretch of logic here or anything they needed to be more specific about. It’s pretty clear. And WW84 is a great comparison, because Black Widow has no real leaps of logic whereas that film is a great example if you want to see what actual leaps of logic look like. It should be noted that those low altitude sliding door planes don't have the same issue with pressurization that is commonly played up in any passenger plane door blown off story in history.

My issue was with underdeveloped thoughts rather than plot holes, but I again liked the film far more than any complaints I may have. I'll leave details off of this thread, but there were just a few spots throughout it where you just kind of had to go along with their planning or actions in a so this is happening sense. Not horrible, just a bit story convenient. My issues were also surrounding things that were a bit underdeveloped. Some of the "speculative" science also took me out of it momentarily, but the movie makes it easy enough to recover the fantasy mindset, and just enjoy yourself. It all mostly worked internally.

Has anyone seen Yelena's vest on sale anywhere? Not live, but it is available in many online results through a quick Google search.

So I saw this today. Being back in the theater was super fun. Aside from me and my bro there were literally only two other people in the theater. Seeing those Marvel credits on the big screen again was so awesome.
As for the movie I honestly went in with low expectations, but I was mostly pretty satisfied. I’m not the biggest Nat fan but I actually really enjoyed getting her backstory. The fake family angle was easily the best part of the movie. Yelena and Red Guardian were great characters. I was surprised (in a good way) by how dark it was. They really went into the pain and tragedy of her past in ways I didn’t expect. And the emotional moments and relationships really worked when they needed to.
Taskmaster was fine. Kind of a waste honestly. Who did she mimic besides Cap and Nat? Could’ve been used to better effect in a different movie. Overall she reminded me of Deadpool in Wolverine Origins. Not a good thing! And the third act was pretty clunky and way too CGI/action heavy. But overall it’s definitely a mid tier MCU movie for me, and a fun way to spend the afternoon.

Hey can anyone answer this… I didn’t quite catch why Nat had to “kill” Dreykov’s daughter. Was he in the room with her? Or was she trying to draw him out from hiding?

As in she wouldn’t have been there if Drakov wasnt, but as it turned out, Nat was wrong.

I was munching on popcorn.

It’s there, but yeah it does require some focused attention.

I am legit starving to go see this again. It’s a combo of it being as good as it is with it having been so long
And also that I appreciate that we have such a grounded personal story alongside the cosmic epicness of Loki. That can hit every scale and as Taylor mentioned in the last review, I hope they keep hitting all of those marks

Im seeing it again tomorrow. I have a very bad feeling that this is only a temporary respite from the pandemic. We had a chance to end it and we are totally blowing it. I’m going to enjoy going to the theater while we still can.

I’m going to enjoy going to the theater while we still can. I seriously doubt the US will tolerate lockdowns again. The majority stripped masks the day the CDC let up even a little. I doubt they could even pull off masking again, but they'd be looking at a revolt if they try to revisit lockdowns. 60% of Republicans in the southeastern US would consider secession a possibility already, and 48% of Democrats on the west coast. That sort of split on that strong an issue would almost certainly crack the country. But I will take the concern of it driving additional Black Widow views. They can use the help. How the expletive did Space Jam 2, with one of the most hated people in sports, surpass MCU in it's 2nd week?

As long as the only people getting sick are anti-vaxxers then that should be acceptable. People have a choice now and if they make that choice they alone should live with the consequences. The rest of us shouldn’t have to be punished. But the virus will never go away with only 50% of the population immune. And as long as it is bouncing around out there it could mutate and render the vaccine ineffective. And when that happens things will get worse again for everyone. All I’m saying is that I’m trying to enjoy our return to normal while it lasts.

Honestly, I know what you’d say anyway. I’ve heard it all before from certain relatives who refuse to get the vaccine. We should agree to disagree and go back to talking about Black Widow Woman.

I can assure you, I'm not the standard person, but yes, I will move on if we're still in that state. Truly astounding that communication can be so effectively stifled based on perspective. It's a part of daily life but it still can't be openly discussed. That's sickening nearly to a point of internet abandonment.

I’ve just A) had this discussion a lot lately with family and I know it’s sort of pointless. And B) don’t want to derail a thread about Black Widow Woman. You are welcome to post your thoughts though. I’m just not really interested in that particular discussion right now.

It's tough to have normal conversations as my perspective on that ties into the Black Widow viewership and your reasoning for going. It just sucks to have to not respond with honest conversation basically any time anyone mentions anything about it, the requirement is sit there or mention how much it sucks to not be able to respond naturally. The very issue derails conversation nearly every time. As for the movie, to aid in the return to topic, I have seen it three times at home now. While I did give them their money for premium access, I most likely would have spent more in theaters by now. I just am too comfortable at home and I hate leaving my dog. I don't know what the answer is to move forward as the demand for instant home release now exists. Hard to guess where they end up settling on this. Theaters have got to be terrified.

60% of Republicans in the southeastern US would consider secession The logistics of that should probably be a concern a bit more than "bye bitches" would seem to indicate. That's not a small issue and speaks horribly for the state of the country.

So did anyone here predict that Space Jam 2 out of all films booted a MCU from the top spot of the box office weekend?
I can't help but find that a bit amusing.
Did...did...Bugs Bunny get ahold of the Infinity Gauntlet?

An MCU fanatic on Twitter vowed to see the film 100 more times to make up for this... this... "travesty." I wanted to reply. I wanted to say, "But that's ridiculous. Surely you must know that you could see the film 1000 more times and never make a dent in the situation. It is what it is - come to your senses." Instead, I did nothing but lay an invisible hand upon his shoulder and telepathically relayed this message. "Go forth and do the good work. One thousand prayers for your safety and success. May the fandom never fall from the face of this Earth." Hee hee hee... Seriously though, the fandom has been gutted by the second-weekend drop in Social Media, and they're currently strategizing on how to make every MCU film a bulletproof success. They are crowdsourcing AI-driven analysis of all MCU movies that were successfully dethroned by counter-programming. So is that counter-counter-programming? What would it entail exactly? I'm curious. This must be the anger stage.

This is an impossible game to win through AI at this stage. There are equal parts people that will scream for lack of diversity to people that will scream for even slightly present wokeness. An AI would produce the South Park Christmas pageant to shut up the haters and receive nothing but "most bland movie ever". It's a business, they need to view their market segments, find the largest group, and cater to it. They can aim for other market segments with other shows, the great thing about having so much property, but they can't forget what their primary group is and need to keep them as happy as they can without just tossing in fanboy moments like some universes...

Honestly though, it's reactionary. They just need to change their release or come up with a standard that profits. It may not involve the traditional theater release schedule like it has, but they need to do whatever it takes to make it work. Plotting story changes comes off as way too reactionary.
