Wait, wait, wait: You mean being under a yellow sun wouldn’t actually give someone born under a red sun superpowers? WHAT BLASPHEMY IS THIS? But a society of Amazons actually do live on an invisible island. That one they got right. Whew, OK, what a relief. I’m going out now to find a radioactive spider to bite me; see you later, all!

Dr Strange I always feel like I should like this one more than I do. I can't quite pinpoint exactly what keeps it from being higher on my list. I love the character, love the casting of Cumberbatch, love the far out mind bending action sequences... I know it's not superhero fatigue because I can't get enough of these things, but perhaps origin story fatigue? Maybe this one just hits too many familiar notes. Strange's origin is also quite awkward, not necessarily because of the screenplay but because of the fact that this is the story of a surgeon who becomes a Sourcerer so Act One is quite different than Acts 2 and 3, almost like it's an entirely different movie. They should've gone the Batman Begins route and kept the backstory in flashbacks. In any case, I like this one, but I don't love it. And I certainly don't hate it. I think the sequel can elevate this series to greatness. Who's directing it again?

What? The underside of your bed is comfy. Well, at least you caught my best angle! Unfortunately, now I'm going to have to find a new place to live. Don't worry, that tapping you hear is just me looking for a hollow place in the walls.

Black Panther If there’s one thing I love in sci if and fantasy it’s world building. And this does a fine job of it. I thought Wakanda was very realized in all aspects, from set and costume design to mythology. As a history nerd I especially enjoyed seeing the architecture of Middle Ages’ Timbuktu in the skyline. I look forward to spending more time in Wakanda in the sequels. I think it was also extremely wise to skip the origin. T’Challa is already BP when we meet him and it works best that way. Yes, the plot can be a bit predictable but my opinion on story structure is that it’s better to be competent and somewhat formulaic than it is to be a structural mess like Aquaman. Things do kind of feel a little by the numbers in the first half of BP though especially. Maybe the MCU plays it too safe sometimes but I think the world building here more than makes up for it. We also have a great villain this time with complex fleshed out motivations and some deftly handled social commentary that is bold for its genre but never gets preachy. I found it all to be quite seamless in this movie, which is really the story of the nation of Wakanda rather than the character of Black Panther. It honestly surprises me a bit that this movie is polarizing, but I’d welcome any negative critiques. That’s your cue charzhino

I think it's just the internet doing a good job of making it look like it is. Enough people went to see this to put it close to making as much money as the first "Avengers", and I doubt even a fraction of those paying watchers get involved in the arguments we've seen about the film. It's highly rated on all review aggregate sites, made a ton of money, people like the characters, so in all, it's more likely a very vocal minority.

It's self-sustaining fusion. It'd take a lot more than water to do the trick. It would if you added a 10% vinegar solution. Or if you added something acidic like urine. Doc Ock could've peed in the water first. You don't know! Can confirm. Ackbar was right. I even had a man with metal tentacle arms pee. I was pretty thorough. I know I know, you're probably thinking how did you get the man to pee and wear the metal arms? Money. Solves all problems. I can finally go to sleep now and try to recover from the radiation sickness. Designing those metal arms and the miniature sun really had me on edge

Goofballs of the Galaxy Vol 2
There's a lot to like about this one- the story is deeper, darker and more personal, which is exactly what a sequel should be. We really get to the heart of these characters- well, Rocket and Peter anyway. And the pay offs are all tremendous. The father figure switch was particularly well done. And Yondu is the man.
Another thing I love, at least for a while, is the cartoonish nature of everything that goes on. It's like watching a live action Futurama episode with Peter as Fry, Gamora as Leela, and Rocket as Bender. It's so fun, colorful and off the wall.... But something about it starts to feel overdone and everytime I watch it my enjoyment diminishes more and more the deeper I get into the movie. The humor starts to feel excessive, the cartoonishness is too unrelenting, and the CGI landscapes start to feel less whimsical and more feel like digital eye sores.
But I still rate it fairly high. Not as good as vol 1, but still solid.

I really liked it! Unlike The Dark World you could tell that the cast were enjoying themselves and having fun. Plus it had Jeff Goldblum in it, which is always a treat in itself

AQUA KEN!, Grandmaster, I agree. I love this one as well. My only complaint is that one joke during the destruction of Asgard. I hate that they demean that moment, which should have been completely serious. Otherwise I always throughly enjoy watching this one!

Along with the running joke of making a mockery of Thor.

@weirdraptor and ArArArchStanton you are tasked with writing reviews for End Game. Submit them here by Friday or you will be forced to repeat the fourth grade.
