On another note what did everyone think about Colin Firth as the Penguin? Unrecognizable, right? I mean, if you gave me a thousand guesses on who that was I never would’ve guessed Colin Firth. Give that boy an award! He was great in the role and the makeup was done very well. Seriously if this film doesn't at least get a nomination in that category, it would be bullshit. If Suicide Squad could get that then so should this film!

I like the idea of using the mayor's kid.

I like the idea of using the mayor's kid. Matt Reeves said in an interview that wasn't the idea but it's a good idea. (so yeah they'll do it in part 3 ).

Credits rolling now,,,
Ok you can probably guess. Let’s not kid ourselves. I’ll spare you.
I did have 2 bat drinks however, basically themed whiskey and cokes, but still decidedly enjoyable beverages.
ArArRated: I go on rocks, advance the clock, and 4 would have enhanced the plot

Grace Randolph pens a twisted season's greeting card to tHe BAtMan… Is she right? You decide. 1st off, I curse you and your family for 1000 generations for making me listen to Grace Randolph again :-) 2nd, holy oversaturated Batman, I’ve been saying this for years. The way Batman gets back to a $billion franchise is less Batman. It’s too much. People stop caring when it’s all DC wants to focus on. And 3rd, I’ve been saying this my whole life, DC is fundamentally not as good, I’m sorry. They’re the B brand. How many more decades of underperforming disorganized inconsistency do we need to live through before we all accept that? The Batman, an ostensibly good film, and DC’s by far and away go to character that they seemingly cannot function without, can’t come remotely close to a Spiderman character Marvel didn’t even need to build history’s biggest film studio. The Batman isn’t even going to hit Marvel’s average. The difference is bloody obvious. DC is not Marvel’s peer. They’re wannabes. They’re RC cola to Coke. They’re your local directional college pretending the state university is a rival. And ignoring the much more organized Marvel comic history that preceded, it’s been that way on film for over 20 years now.

Believe me when I say that you can't be half as upset as I am with the person who shared the video with me, insisting that I "must" watch it. She's not entirely wrong about the plight of Batman and Superman in terms of the decline of their overall prestige, earning power, and cultural relevance. Captain America and Iron Man have indeed surpassed them, and those characters are gone now - removed from the discussion and any chance of artistic decline. The CBM equivalent of a mic drop. Holy switcharoo, Batman! I put on a good show regarding box office and critical appraisal, but they don't mean a lot to me personally. That being said, I think Grace may be on to something in saying that if the Batman doesn't reach 1B, especially considering the recently inflated cost of a movie ticket, that should signal WB leadership that 'something is in the way.' I was a loyal fan of RC cola until I was about 9 or 10 years old - and then I tried a Coke. Never looked back…

She is right. It should be clear that some things are in the way, plural, if this doesn’t boost up green wise. Nice play on the theme song there btw.
And I think the key stone of those things is not realizing that even Batman can’t withstand being the only focal point and Superman had already lost his luster even before Brandon Routhe slapped on the tights. How it’s taken so long for this to sink into public consciousness I have no idea, but WB has been horribly deceived by the fans who have kept selling the idea that Superman is supposed to be popular.
So instead of using the opportunity to build their brand, they’re now left trying to do so with a tired OG, worn out leads, and no goodwill
She’s right. If the sequel doesn’t find elite level status, the value of DC to WB will hit a new low.

If the sequel doesn’t find elite level status, the value of DC to WB will hit a new low. The brutal truth for a brutal Batman - that kind of irony pays dividends. A part of the problem may be that we've painted the Dark Knight into this hyper-serious and ultra-grounded corner. Creatively, auteurs can't risk doing anything other than the most realistic takes on the character. Nolan has long since parted from the franchise and the genre, but his shadow still looms large. I prefer a more gothic and borderline horror-driven take on the character. When Batman approaches the supernatural - when he becomes an elemental force - that is when I am most interested and engaged with the character. The screeching of winged vermin, the ghosting people mid-sentence… pure magic. Watching him stroll into active crime scenes staring down detectives and technicians, is the uppermost limit of what I can take from the grounded approach. Of course, you can't deny that Pattinson put work into creating a very distinct version of the character. His walk, voice, and overall mannerism were outstanding. And, he's a Nirvana fan - what more do you need? It will be interesting to see how Affleck and Keaton fair in the Flash. I wonder if the Flash could get the 1 B nostalgia lift that No Way Home got. The character needs a creative shakeup, for sure.
