Wow. My fault and my apologies; I would have voted for Golden Gun to save Dr. No. In my defense, extremely stressful day. Apologies, Sa[lzmar]kaar. I hadn't known you'd had a stressful day when I mentioned your name in one of my previous posts (in regards to needing your help in voting out a movie neither of us are fans of). So it comes to this...I'm now reduced to bartering. I was going to vote for You Only Live Twice...but if you could be persuaded to change your vote from that movie to the one you know I greatly dislike..then I will vote for that instead of YOLT. The current tally: You Only Live Twice - 2 votes Quantum of Solace - 2 votes The Spy Who Loved Me - 1 vote

Until it's finally gone, my vote remains for QUANTUM OF SHITE.

And why has MOONRAKER been eliminated? Do you people have no taste??? Roger Moore Forever!!! Not so much 'no taste' as ' different tastes'. I actually like most of Moore's films (Live and Let Die, For Your Eyes Only, The Spy Who Loved Me, The Man with the Golden Gun).
I was just making a funny, Cup of Bad, I'm not one of those "my way or the highway" kind of guys.
But I will defend Roger Moore with your dying breath!!!

But I will defend Roger Moore with your dying breath!!! That's okay, detour. I figured you hadn't intended your "no taste" comment in a serious/aggressive manner. The fact that you didn't resort to targeting anyone personally was an indicator that your comment was lighthearted. Likewise, my "Not so much 'no taste' as ' different tastes'." comment wasn't intended as being super-defensive or anything. I was just attempting to explain that there are indeed a lot of different opinions on the Bond films in this thread. One person's 'favourite' movie is another person's 'least favourite' and vice versa. I'm certainly not one of those "my way or the highway" kind of guys either. So it's all good. I've now added your vote for Quantum of Solace to the tally (along with my vote for You Only Live Twice): You Only Live Twice - 3 votes Quantum of Solace - 3 votes The Spy Who Loved Me - 1 vote

Round 10 is closed. You Only Live Twice - 3 votes Quantum of Solace - 3 votes The Spy Who Loved Me - 1 vote Despite some valiant efforts to save it, You Only Live Twice has just been bitch-slapped out of the game much like Bond bitch-slapped that motorbike in Quantum of Solace (though that film hasn't come out of Round 10 unscathed either). You Only Live Twice and Quantum of Solace have been ELIMINATED.Round 11 begins. From Russia with Love (1963) Goldfinger (1964) Thunderball (1965) On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969) The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) For Your Eyes Only (1981) The Living Daylights (1987) GoldenEye (1995) Casino Royale (2006) Skyfall (2012)

Are you guys all fans of the Lazenby one? I never liked it much. I'm suprised it hasn't received any votes.
In any case, I'm going to tentatively vote for The Living Bondlights

In any case, I'm going to tentatively vote for The Living Bondlights That’s another Bond in which I like a lot of elements—Savalas’ Blofeld (second-best Blofeld, after Van Sydow…if a bit too thuggish), the mountaintop lair, the opening until the scene in Draco’s office, Bond’s subterfuge as “Hilly,” Diana Rigg, the nasty twist ending—but don’t think they add up to a satisfying whole. Not even because of Lazenby, to be honest—I don’t love his Bond and wish Connery got to show off his acting chops here, but I don’t think he’s bad—but just because the pacing’s absurdly slow for a big chunk of it and because I don’t buy the Lazenby-Rigg romance. I’ve always felt it’s the best Bond for a remake, though that’d never happen, of course.

I'm having some stressful real life stuff going on at the moment too (concerning a family member). I also feel that I'm making myself more and more unpopular in this thread with my choices of movies to vote out, not to mention my remarks I make every time film/s are voted out aren't anywhere near as witty as yours were in the MCU survivor game, Sa[lzmar]kaar. At times I feel tempted to turn the running of this game over to someone else, but since we're getting towards the end now...I guess I'll just hang in there until it finishes.

You're doing an excellent job! I doubt you're becoming unpopular with anyone. I don't think anyone takes anyone's picks personally. I definately don't. I hope my commenting on Dr No, Skyfall and YOLT didn't give you that impression. And I especially enjoy the GIFs you post for each eliminated movie!

Thank, Cup o' Bad, and thanks for adding my vote.
I'm highlighting the sentence above because you spell favourite with a "u", like I do. Canadian? British? Or just not good at spelling?

In any case, I'm going to tentatively vote for The Living Bondlights There’s a strongly held view among hard core bond fans that if Connery had stared in “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” that it would almost universally be considered the best. So yeah it’s pretty damn good and Lazenby is pretty strong in his own right

So yeah it’s pretty damn good and Lazenby is pretty strong in his own right I've thought about this before, and you may be right. Keep in mind I have only watched it during my initial watch through of these movies and had a hard time getting used to someone other than Connery in the role. If I remember right though, it does lack the Bond atmosphere and feels like it's from a different franchise. I should rewatch it at some point to see how my opinion has changed.

Seconding Arch on GoldenEye. Sa[lzmar]kaar, what happened? We used to be targeting the same movie. The current tally of votes: The Living Daylights - 1 vote The Spy Who Loved Me - 2 votes GoldenEye - 2 votes So, it's that time again - one of my favourite movies is a target (just like old times in the MCU survivor game). One person's 'favourite' movie is another person's 'least favourite' and vice versa. Thank, Cup o' Bad, and thanks for adding my vote. I'm highlighting the sentence above because you spell favourite with a "u", like I do. Canadian? British? Or just not good at spelling? I do make loads of typos (though usually manage to catch most of them and edit my posts to correct them). In this instance, though, my spelling isn't to blame. I'm from Australia, hence why I spell it as 'favourite'.

We can change votes, right? If so I would like to change so that my vote isn't wasted...
The Bond Who Loved Me.
Possibly a better film than GoldenBond. But I have some nostalgic appreciation for the latter.

Round 11 is closed for business. The Spy Who Loved Me - 4 votes GoldenEye - 2 votes The Spy Who Loved Me didn't really feel the love in Round 10. As such, it ended up as shark food. The Spy Who Loved Me has been ELIMINATED.Round 12 commences. From Russia with Love (1963) Goldfinger (1964) Thunderball (1965) On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969) For Your Eyes Only (1981) The Living Daylights (1987) GoldenEye (1995) Casino Royale (2006) Skyfall (2012)

Oof. I really like The Spy who Loved Me. It’s not without its flaws, of course, but it’s one of the best of the over-the-top Bondian extravaganzas, and it’s one of my favorites of the Moores. In some ways I prefer pre-outer-space Moonraker, but… Still surprised it’s gone so early. I’d watch it over Skyfall, Thunderball, OHMSS, and certainly GoldenEye any day. As for targeting the same movie, Chalice_Of_Evil, I have a real bias against the Brosnans. Nothing against Brosnan himself, who I think could make a great Bond (and seemed to have started ironing out his characterization in Die Another Day), and certainly nothing against Judi Dench’s magnificent M, but I find his movies the dullest, most run-of-the-mill average spy thrillers imaginable. What’s weird is that for all my criticisms of them they’re so over-the-top and silly that they feel like Bond to me in a way that the Daniel Craig entries don’t, even though I love Casino Royale and defend Quantum of Solace. I guess the difference for me is that the Brosnans feel like the original Bond series on its last legs, whereas the Craigs feel like a fundamentally different series. That may be one reason I’m a Die Another Day apologist… It just feels like Bond, albeit stupid Bond, in a way that the Craig movies (good as the first two are!) don’t. From this list, I’m either voting for GoldenEye or Skyfall. Whichever ends up with the most votes.
