I doubt this will be the last we see of the Eternals. I wouldn't be surprised if some characters get their own Spinoff. I know that there's currently a rumor that a Black Knight movie may be in the works.

I liked the Eternals. One post credit scene is very interesting. The other too, with the voice.
It was a good movie but it lacked je ne sais quoi. It wasnt dense like Campea said. In fact, it was very simple imo lol
Oh and I missed the first 20 min. Was late. Damn it!

It was after work but expected only to be 5min late and didnt feel like waiting around for an hour. Ended up at the wrong cinema lol. So rushed to the other one. Google maps wasnt accurate. Hate it when that happens. Same company, same suburb but it was a special Mandarin one

@phistosgauntlet, Chalice_Of_EvilI see you both have seen Eternals. Mind if I ask you a question? The most intriguing aspect of the Eternals mythology to me is the Celestials, so I’m wondering how much screen time do they have? If I go in expecting lots of really trippy, sci fi goodness with these giant alien Gods will I be disappointed?

The other is kinda of a spoiler to talk about.

The Eternals have always been "pawns in someone else's game." That's what I love about the property, and I think Chloé Zhao perfectly captures this aspect of the IP.
Eternals is a feast for literary-minded nerds and cinephiles who dig on themes of determinism and fatalism. The nat-geo quality landscape photography is a perfect complement to those themes.
It's a first-rate adaptation that isn't without its flaws. Still, the strength of the character's relationships and the overall quality of the filmmaking is more than enough to overcome most of the film's shortcomings.
And, this film has the best action sequences the MCU has to offer. I adored the third act action sequence.
As usual, the end credits say, "The Eternals will return…". That's questionable given the box office and critical reception.
Nonetheless, 'The Eternals must return.'

Nope. For me the best/most interesting relationship between two characters in this film (and the one I wished we could've seen more of) was Gilgamesh and Thena.

This movie was… AWESOME. Everything I’ve been wanting from an MCU movie for years. How in the hell did this end up “rotten”? Insanity.

Told you I had a feeling I’d love it, but the bad reviews gave me pause. What’s interesting is that the friend I saw it with said it was his least favorite MCU movie! So I guess this one either resonates or it doesn’t. It sure did with me. And while I understand and even agree with some of his complaints I walked away satisfied and wanting more.

Its not a typical MCU movie. If you want the typical (and ArArArchStanton, I dont think it is but people say it is) MCU cookie cutter formula than yeah, this movie is not very good. The point is.... It isnt a typical MCU cookie cutter movie. Marvel Studios has made a conscious effort to break its own mold. I guess some people wont be able to follow them. Their loss. Personally I love it and hope to see more of this.

Personally I love it and hope to see more of this. Yeah, I think a lot of people just want exactly what they expect from the MCU at this point and nothing more. And I don’t want to praise this movie by tearing others down, but I personally thought this was the first genuinely worthwhile Marvel project of Phase Four. I really hope the bad reviews don’t deter Marvel from taking more risks like this. But I fear they will. The box office numbers are quite good so far though, so hopefully that’s encouragement enough.

The audience scores are good. The money is good. They will continue on this road as well as making their regular films. Personally I loved Shang Chi but it is more of the same. Eternals is a different class.

Eternals is a different class. I like Shang Chi to a point. It’s entertaining. And more of the same won’t always be a bad thing. That and Black Widow just felt a bit too familiar after 20+ movies though. For me anyway. Eternals brought some of the freshness Phase Four needs to keep this franchise interesting.
