The “you look young” comments are fine. The “you’ve been laying on the table too much” is a little graphic

So, their first instinct was to start making jokes inferring she's a loose woman, instead of something polite and decent like "Oh, your kids must be psyched that you're on TV!"
Year from now, those kids are going to realize those judges basically called their mom a whore on world wide TV when they're old enough. You know, TV personalities, it's okay to just be decent human beings once and a while. You don't need to be "funny" in all your interactions with the contestants.

All Katy Perry was saying was the woman obviously had had lots of sex. Since she already has three children. And apparently it was unprotected sex. I'm sure Katy Perry and all those other judges have had lots of sex. What celebrity hasn't? But unlike the target of that joke, they didn't have three children at a young age.

Basically calling this woman a whore to her face on worldwide TV (WHILE HER CHILDREN WERE LIKELY WATCHING) is not only rude and mean-spirited, but it's also the most low-effort and lazy joke they could have possibly made. If this is the best they could come up with, then what right do they have judging other peoples' talents? On top of that, when your gut reaction to a young mother of three is to humiliate her, again, ON WORLDWIDE TV WHILE HER CHILDREN ARE WATCHING, there is something fundamentally wrong with you. And they only did because of her gender. Had it been a young father of three, they wouldn't have batted an eyelash. Or worse, congratulated him for "being a chad."

AQUA RAPTOR!, Katy Perry merely suggested the lady in question has been having lots of sex. Which is apparent due to the fact that she has lots of children at a young age. "You've been spending lots of time on your back" is a euphemism for having lots of sex. Nothing wrong or negative about that. Nothing wrong with having lots of sex. Or having lots of children at a young age. As opposed to being a whore. Which has negative connotations. - As in too much sex, and/or being indiscriminate. As in having too much sex with anybody and everybody. Including bad people, and strangers with whom one would not have enough information to know whether or not they could be trusted. - Or as in being a prostitute. Someone who has sex for money with anybody and/or everybody. As long as they have the money to pay for services. Including bad people, and strangers with whom one would not have enough information to know whether or not they could be trusted. Katy Perry never called her a whore. She merely said she's been spending a lot of time on her back. Which is a euphemism for having lots of sex. Which is apparent by how many children this young woman had. Bottomline, this woman and her supporters are looking for something to be offended by. And complain about. Everything is not an insult.

Buddy, if someone said that to a mother of three at one of my family get-togethers, my father and uncles would show the "jokesters" the door very quickly and roughly. Having three children is nothing out of the ordinary, so the fact those hacks felt the need to make such rude comments about it says everything about their poor upbringing. Bottomline, that woman is hardly anything out of the ordinary and those judges were out of line with those comments. I wouldn't tolerate a joke like that, either.

That is literally calling her a whore. No it's not. A whore is someone who has too much sex with too many people. Katy Perry never said that girl did that. The word whore can be used as a pejorative to describe someone who simply has sex in exchange for money (or other items of value). In its second and likely most common form, a whore is someone, usually a female, who engages in many transient sexual relations without forethought or discrimination. Your definition lacks the all-important aspect of promiscuity. Promiscuity speaks to being indiscriminate when it comes to the selection of partners. A lack of judgment when choosing the timing and locations for liaisons is also a part of the whore's burden. As you stated, frequent sex with many partners doesn't automatically transform you into a whore. A whore would be synonymous with a sex worker if not for the piece surrounding judgment. With that bit of housekeeping out of the way, Ms. Perry's comment was only ostensibly about sex. The harm of her remark was in reducing a human being to nothing more than an ambulatory womb. The implication was that her sole purpose or value was, laying on her back, receiving sperm, and producing offspring. The further implication is that Ms. Liebe, by Ms. Perry's judgment, had had enough of the activity (i.e., the sex) that led to her current predicament (i.e., the three children) and should cease and desist with all due haste. She was rebuking her as one might a small child for eating too many sweets or indulging in copious amounts of fatty foods. This is why the issue is being referred to as "mom shaming" and not "slut shaming." Let's take a step back and look at the format of these "talent" shows. I don't watch them, but as I understand it, young hopefuls compete for the chance at professional careers in the music industry. Before displaying their talents, they must stand still for verbal hazing from veteran music makers whose music careers are typically over or teetering on the edge of irrelevance. The juvenile and often mean-spirited initiation is meant to ramp up the drama by belittling the contestant to test their resolve and desire to join the cadre of jackals who produce plasticine pop music for the masses. My point is that belittling and dehumanizing the contestant is all a part of the gag. The judges get to revel in their position of superiority, and the contestant gets to subject themselves to discomfort, within the bounds of good taste, for a chance to perpetuate the cycle when they one day produce their own disposable pop music and earn the right to mistreat newer contenders in a similar fashion. Ms. Perry's comments, whether about sex or motherhood, were simply out of bounds. Neither has anything to do with one's ability or determination to be a singer. Indeed not all mothers are created equal; however, because of their essential role in our society, mothers typically hold venerated status. Ms. Perry - as a mother herself - should understand this better than most. A mother should never be objectified or made to feel shame because of the number of children she has, how or with whom she had them, or at what age. The government is already trying to insinuate itself into family planning matters as it is - we don't need Ms. Perry pulling up the rear. Ms. Liebe can determine the amount of sex and children appropriate for her without Ms. Perry's commentary or judgment on the matter. If anything, Perry's comment and those that followed reveal her as the petty and insecure diva she truly is. I could have lobbed a grenade in the room regarding Ms. Perry's age, but I chose not to because… It would have been in poor taste.
