I don't hang out with other people on these boards. They are strangers. I've already proved my point with thorough logic, a couple of posts back. There was no logic in anything you said. Just sociopathic excuses for terrible behavior. You are entitled to your opinion. But based on everybody I've talked to about this, your opinion is in the minority. And mine is in the majority.

That is a whole different dynamic. Different context. If she and I were laughing and doing something together, that is different than going up to a stranger. I don't see a difference. The woman was a stranger to Perry and her idiot cohorts. They were talking and laughing. It was a funny comment. Everybody else laughed. That lady needs a sense of humor. And a thicker skin required to get through everyday life. And if she is going to enter a competition, she's going to need a thicker skin than that.

They humiliated her in front of a live audience while her children were watching. No, you need to stop being a complete sociopath. A contest is about trying you hand at the activity its based around, not being verbally abused by the judges. I'm sure she was expecting some ribbing to take place, but not at the expense of her status as a mother. Lastly, why did you even ask our opinions if you were just going to insist that yours' was the only correct one? You asked for our opinions, I gave you mine, and yet you won't stop trying to force me to agree with you.

Huge numbers of British citizens back in the 18th and 19th centuries used to hold such rigid views of race that when they ventured out to the colonies, they worried they were losing their Britishness when their bodies adjusted to living in the West Indie or North American colonies. Children born in those colonies, even if they were born to British parents, were often viewed as "creoles". Creole was supposed to be a term for someone of mixed race, but in actual practice, very little distinction was made, so even white colonial children were often lumped in under that racial status as well. So, don't come at me with this "majority opinion" crap when history is full of how wrong the majority opinion can be. Find something better. Be better than that.

They acted like she said she had ten.

The word whore can be used as a pejorative to describe someone who simply has sex in exchange for money (or other items of value). In its second and likely most common form, a whore is someone, usually a female, who engages in many transient sexual relations without forethought or discrimination. Your definition lacks the all-important aspect of promiscuity. Promiscuity speaks to being indiscriminate when it comes to the selection of partners. A lack of judgment when choosing the timing and locations for liaisons is also a part of the whore's burden. As you stated, frequent sex with many partners doesn't automatically transform you into a whore. A whore would be synonymous with a sex worker if not for the piece surrounding judgment. With that bit of housekeeping out of the way, Ms. Perry's comment was only ostensibly about sex. The harm of her remark was in reducing a human being to nothing more than an ambulatory womb. The implication was that her sole purpose or value was, laying on her back, receiving sperm, and producing offspring. The further implication is that Ms. Liebe, by Ms. Perry's judgment, had had enough of the activity (i.e., the sex) that led to her current predicament (i.e., the three children) and should cease and desist with all due haste. She was rebuking her as one might a small child for eating too many sweets or indulging in copious amounts of fatty foods. This is why the issue is being referred to as "mom shaming" and not "slut shaming." Let's take a step back and look at the format of these "talent" shows. I don't watch them, but as I understand it, young hopefuls compete for the chance at professional careers in the music industry. Before displaying their talents, they must stand still for verbal hazing from veteran music makers whose music careers are typically over or teetering on the edge of irrelevance. The juvenile and often mean-spirited initiation is meant to ramp up the drama by belittling the contestant to test their resolve and desire to join the cadre of jackals who produce plasticine pop music for the masses. My point is that belittling and dehumanizing the contestant is all a part of the gag. The judges get to revel in their position of superiority, and the contestant gets to subject themselves to discomfort, within the bounds of good taste, for a chance to perpetuate the cycle when they one day produce their own disposable pop music and earn the right to mistreat newer contenders in a similar fashion. Ms. Perry's comments, whether about sex or motherhood, were simply out of bounds. Neither has anything to do with one's ability or determination to be a singer. Indeed not all mothers are created equal; however, because of their essential role in our society, mothers typically hold venerated status. Ms. Perry - as a mother herself - should understand this better than most. A mother should never be objectified or made to feel shame because of the number of children she has, how or with whom she had them, or at what age. The government is already trying to insinuate itself into family planning matters as it is - we don't need Ms. Perry pulling up the rear. Ms. Liebe can determine the amount of sex and children appropriate for her without Ms. Perry's commentary or judgment on the matter. If anything, Perry's comment and those that followed reveal her as the petty and insecure diva she truly is. I could have lobbed a grenade in the room regarding Ms. Perry's age, but I chose not to because… It would have been in poor taste. Katy Perry never said, implied, or insinuated any of this. 👇👇👇 "The word whore can be used as a pejorative to describe someone who simply has sex in exchange for money (or other items of value).

And by the fact that she said she already had three children. Seems appropriate to me. Perfect time for a light hearted, non critical joke. Everybody with a sense of humor laughed. Everybody who has no sense of humor, was too sensitive, and were looking for something to complain about --- didn't laugh, got offended, and complained. You can make most of the people happy most of the time. But you can't make everybody happy all the time. Especially when you are dealing with a huge audience. Too bad for the little ninnies.

Too few to bother asking why the other person feels the way they do about this or that issue. Although, I don't need to ask why movieliker feels the way he does. I've dealt with many like him who relish in cruel jokes made at the expense of others. They're high school bullies who never grew up and are frustrated that they can't just pick on other people in the polite society of the real world. Asking for empathy from them is a fool's errand. I only kept pressuring him to expose him.
