Well, let's just be thankful it wont be released in the year 2032 I'd prefer it released in the year 2032.

I'd prefer it released in the year 2032. Sweet, I can be hangin' with Roy Schneider and a talking dolphin! Just keep the annoying kid away from me and we're good.

So anyone got any box office predictions for the film?
I can see it hitting 2 billion but not sure if it would top Endgame.

I remember when I was actually looking forward to this movie...back in 2011. It’s been delayed so many times that it’s impossible to care anymore.

Incidentally, flight of passage at Disney World is astounding beyond expectations. Just don't have motion sickness. Not only did I see a woman about to pop after, the workers were so used to it that they had a hidden compartment open with a trashcan handed to her before she did.

China’s Film Bureau has reportedly approved plans for James Cameron’s 2009 sci-fi epic “Avatar” to get a wide re-release in the country this coming Friday.
An official public announcement is said to be imminent. The blockbuster will reportedly be made available to exhibitors for a nationwide release in both IMAX 3D and ordinary 3D.
One thing the abrupt rollout could do is restore the film’s crown as the highest-grossing movie in global box-office history. “Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame” currently holds that title at $2.797 billion to “Avatar” at $2.790 billion.
The film needs to earn just under $7.4 million to reclaim the crown and the film was among a shortlist of historically popular blockbuster titles China’s Film Bureau requested for re-release last year. The deal was completed but the film wasn’t put to use – until now.

Producer Jon Landau spoke to Total Film magazine about the upcoming sequels and explained the main reason why it has taken over a decade to bring the first one to screens. As he revealed, the fact that all four sequel scripts have been written, at least in part, was a major delaying point for getting any new Avatar content out. "The scripts are the blueprint from which we work. So a large portion of our time was writing... with the challenge that each of those four scripts had to individually resolve itself in a story that concludes with a big emotional resolution – but when you look at them as a whole, the connected story arc of all four movies creates an even larger epic saga." When it comes to Avatar 2, the film will pick up with exactly the same time difference having passed as in the real world. Cameron will be once again directing and the story will see the Sully family as they are now, with Sam Worthington’s Jake and Zoe Saldana’s Neytiri having become parents since we last saw them. Landau went on to explain, "I think the story of Avatar 2, and the strength of the story, is what Jim [Cameron] always does in any of his movies: he writes in universal themes that are bigger than any one genre. And if you think about this, there’s really no more universal theme than family. At the center of each of our sequels is the Sully family. What are the dynamics that parents go through to protect their family?" movieweb.com/avatar-2-producer-update/

One thing's for sure, Jim knows how to run a set. No credible reddit spoilers, no janky paparazzi photos, no screen caps, no actors on late night with loose lips, no leaked drafts (of three scripts), no hack YouTubers with "sources" and spoiler alerts…
I mean, isn't Neytiri going to jump into a male Avatar by the third one? Gimme something, Jim.
Landau isn't saying anything you couldn't attribute to a thousand other Hollywood productions.
Cam's practically the Bond villain of tentpole filming. it's been a decade already, we should be able to write elaborate, erotic-aquatic, fan fiction based on the plot of all three upcoming movies that's already been leaked.
If he makes it to the finish line without a major flub, I'll slap his hand and give him credit.

Perhaps even orchestrated at times? I mean look how much buzz Spidey got as a result and then the ticket sale numbers

Perhaps even orchestrated at times? I mean look how much buzz Spidey got as a result and then the ticket sale numbers There are probably many factors that impact on-set leaks. I think it all starts with the director, though. If the director can set a certain tone and gain the respect and support of the studio plus their cast and crew, I think it's less likely to be a leaky set. If the studio isn't confident in the director or feels shaky about the final product, they're far more likely to engage in shady business. In Cameron's case, he's likely only exposing a trusted group of individuals to the complete picture of his vision. That's probably a pain in the ass to do (especially for a decade), but it has to be worth it on opening night if you manage to surprise and delight your audience.

First look at one of the child actors. He'll be playing Jake and Neytiri's son.

The studio boss said that it won't be delayed again. Good Yeah, I liked the first one and am curious what Cameron will do next in this universe. Although he should had released this out a decade ago if he was really that serious. But just my humble opinion.

"He was finally able to crack that challenge," Saldana told Kevin McCarthy. "That whole thing that you can't imitate water virtually through performance capture. That was just a challenge that he had taken upon himself, and it took him years, and he did it. It's powerful, it's compelling. I can get choked up just talking about it. I was able to see just 20 minutes of the second installment right before the year ended last year and I was speechless...I was moved to tears. One thing nobody really knows about Jim is that Jim is also a big crier. He really has a heart of gold, and he is a firm man and he's very focused, but he does have a very delicate heart which is why he protects it so much. I think he's able to have an outlet through the stories that he creates and this story is going to be compelling." comicbook.com/movies/news/avatar-2-zoe-saldana-was-moved-to-tears-after-seeing-sequel-footage/

Still not interested enough since the first one ripped off all major sci-fi franchises.
James Cameron is a great director but also a bit too full of himself.
