The most frustrating thing about the movie (gathering what information I can about it from comments/vids including the one I posted above^) is that it *does* seem like it includes things I would've actually liked such as: Jane Foster becoming Mighty Thor, Christian Bale doing what from all accounts sounds lie his damnedest to make Gorr a memorable villain, the return of Sif. However, there's just too much I HATE: Thor as a walking punchline, Waititi's brand of so-called 'humour' (of which there is apparently TOO much. I couldn't even stand what there was of it in the third film), Waititi loving the sound of his own voice and inserting himself into as much of the movie as possible (not even having the decency to stay dead when it seems his character has carked it), KIDS WITH POWERS (which I saw in the 'Honest Trailer' and, really, nothing makes me roll my eyes more) Jane being offed, Darcy barely featuring and, worst of all, SIF being utterly wasted (and her losing a body part being made light of). Ad all this to having heard Waititi trashing 'Extended Editions' of movies when probably all the stuff he cut out would've been the things I'd want to see and all the stuff he kept I *don't*. It's like he made a movie that's the antithesis of everything I want in a film. For these^ reasons (and many more), this movie can... The things you want to like are really good- Bale nails it. In a better movie with more screen time he’d be an all time great. And Foster is pretty good as Fem-Thor. But… the things you didn’t like in Ragnorockers are AMPED UP TO ELEVEN! I actually liked those things in Ragonorockers but here it was way too much. Especially the part about Taikia loving the sound of his own voice- he does not shut up in this one! Literally. Korg is always talking.

They really wasted the God Butcher story with this story.

I can’t believe they actually cut scenes with him. Somebody actually removed Bale from this movie while keeping in the talking dumpling emoji. Insane! Mind bogglingly insane!

Two thumbs WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY up. No I'm just kidding. Not super duper up, but they were up. It's my second favourite of the Thor movies, and that's after having read that 14 page essay anonymously sent to me by PM about Thor: The Dark World being the best MCU movie of all, written by someone named barchbarchcranton. No idea who that is.
Again I'm kidding.
I liked it though. It has stuff in it I like. I maintain my belief that this is Natalie Portman's best MCU outing. It gave her a lot more to do. I also like that it humanized their relationship and showed Thor as more than someone for her to dote on while he's not around, or when he is around.
Overall I like the big sprawling adventure.
There were a few things I didn't get, like whatever force or voice maneuvered the sword into Christian Bale's hand at the beginning. Was that ever explained? Did he have powers before the sword?
Back to Portman. I liked her cancer angle, and the overall theme that the hammer was her greatest strength and weakness. It's something of a titanium shield that keeps her powered, but interrupts her body's ability to fight the cancer, thereby challenging her to give it up before it's too late or keep it, and spend eternity running on a booster rocket. Like overpowered borrowed time. It reminded me of Shazam and his power. If he stayed as Shazam for hundreds of years, he may never grow, but does that pause his internal aging, or would he just turn to bones and dust if he were Shazam for a thousand years and then turned back to Billy. It's living on a different kind of edge, and again, kinda like Iron Man and the shrapnel in his heart, his greatest power is almost like a raw vein.
The dumpling in the hall of Gods was goofy. Zeus was goofy, but then again he's Zeus. People who know their mythology know he's something of a tyrant and a shape-shifting rapist so it doesn't matter what accent he sports or how he presents; Zeus is top to bottom dangerous.
I liked the idea that Zeus dimissed the deaths of the other Gods as low-level Gods nobody cares about, but I think the deeper message is choosing the path that not only ignores the problem, but finds a distraction to cope. He was going to kill Thor and co to save his own ass, but that just delays the inevitable and he knows it. It's oddly humanizing to see a being with such power act cowardly, but from where he's sitting, it's... not irrational, but it does kick the can down the road.
I'm of the opinion personally that Taika Watiti should be cranking out less Thors and more Jojo Rabbits, but I found this easy viewing, and I think it suffers from not being part of the rising action like Ragnarok was on its way to Infinity War. I would argue the MCU isn't on the rise or the decline, but on the plateau; this film wasn't part of the rising action of the bigger universe' story so it kind of feels like jogging in place, which can be weird when the villain is so inherently threatening, but it is what it is. By the way, how good was Christian Bale? Damn homie, he was kinda freaky.
One thumb up and one thumb at a 75 degree angle for me.

It was alright. I'd probably give it a 6.5/10. Better than TDW but not as good as Ragnarok. Probably around the same as the first movie.

Revisiting this^ comment from me because Thor: Dumb & Dumber is currently on sale where I am for ten bucks - which is an absolute bargain for a Blu-ray that was only released last year. I will admit I briefly considered getting it since it was so cheap, but then I remembered all the things I hated hearing about that're in the movie including (but not limited to) the underuse of Gorr the God Butcher doing any butchering of gods, the overuse of Korg, the cringeworthy 'humour', the treatment of Sif, Jane being off, and the Thor-giving-kids-his-power scene - I could almost get over/move past most of those...except that last one, which I think would cause me to stab the screen (and burn the Blu-ray after watching). You can tell I hate something when not even a bargain is enough to lure me into watching it.

So...I ended up buying Thor: Love and Thunder for the ten bucks after all. And the reason for my caving is all thanks to Disney deciding to discontinue the release of all DVDs/Blu-rays of theirs in my country. So, if I wanted to eventually watch this movie out of morbid curiosity, I was either going to have to wait several years for it to be on free-to-air TV or...buy it. My predictions about everything I'd like (ie. very little) and everything I'd hate (ie. the majority of it) turned out to be right on the money. The only thing I didn't expect were the moments of 'dark humour' (which were the only two bits of 'comedy' in the whole movie that I thought even remotely 'worked'):
