It's time. Time for Cavill to get the boot and Superman to be recast.

The Man of Steel v The Batman : Rise of Fairness Superman lays low by taking a job as a quaint Louisiana salon and gets more than he bargained for.
It shall be called Man of Steel Magnolias.

A movie about Antje Traue's Faora? Now THAT I would watch/vote for! A total badass in that movie. Way cooler than Superman or Zod. Many people were introduced to Antje Traue in Man of Steel. I recall seeing her in a forgettable sci-fi thriller called Pandorum for the first time. The film was horrible outside of a ferocious performance from Traue. I felt like she was destined for bigger things. It's a shame she never caught on in Hollywood. I liked MoS overall, but she was my favorite part. She embodied so much sociopathic and homicidal goodness. It's challenging to play a character that is completely devoid of any moral center. I had absolutely no interest in seeing the Flash before I heard she was going to be in it. Now, I'll be there on opening night. Here's another lame fanboy story for you… During this interview, I'm standing about 7 or 8 feet from her off-screen - to her right. Wish I could say I had the nerve to say something to her, but I missed my opportunity. We took the same shuttle to the convention center that morning, and she was mingling with all of the people around her. Seemed like a down-to-earth person. She could have easily had the studio get her a private car to go back and forth, but she either underestimated her popularity or didn't care.

Its definitely one of those films I haven't revisited since I first saw it lol. I guess I saw her in Seventh Son as well...although at the time I was probably more infatuated with Alicia Vikander. I remember it being an ok movie tho, but its another I havent seen in a while.

I recall thinking it was a rip-off of an indie horror film called The Descent - minus the sci-fi elements. I was enthusiastic about Seventh Son until I saw it. It's a shame that didn't work out. I recall word of mouth leading up to it as terrible, but I hoped against hope for Traue's sake. The same goes for Woman In Gold and Criminal. I did enjoy Bye Bye Germany quite a bit though.

I remember it being an ok movie tho, but its another I havent seen in a while. I actually don't mind Pandorum. I was introduced to the movie thanks to a friend of mine first mentioning the actress Antje Traue to me. Said I should check her out. She was most definitely the best part of the film. After that, I made a point of finding any interviews I could with her. She was also, quite clearly, the best part of MoS (and the only thing in that movie I actually like). Seventh Son, which I checked out for Antje Traue AND Alicia Vikander, is a very different matter. Despite having two actresses in it I'm a fan of...I regretted buying that movie on Blu-ray to check it out. It's SO TERRIBLE. I don't think I can ever bring myself to rewatch it. If anyone ever wants to listen to Jeff Bridges putting on a completely WTF-worthy voice...then watch this movie. Everyone else? Otherwise best to avoid it at all costs. That movie truly tested my devotion to AT and AV.

I understand how you feel, but Superman has been left out in the cold for too long. He deserves better.

I understand how you feel, but Superman has been left out in the cold for too long. He deserves better. The character of Superman certainly deserves a better interpretation than that of Cavill's. Best to scrap this 'dark' version of the character and start again, remembering to actually make him inspirational and not so damn grim.

If Captain America can be made into a "modern" icon, so can Superman.

That movie truly tested my devotion to AT and AV. I think people are a little too hard on MoS. It's not a masterpiece, and it has plenty of flaws, but it's hard to deny how confident and bold it is, even if you disagree with Snyder's vision. I'm not a Cavill apologist. His acting is kind of stilted in the same way Keanu Reeves' acting was weirdly wooden during his early career, but Cavill might have better enunciation on his side. I think he's improved as an actor substantially since MoS (see MI7). I don't follow celebrities, but I kept tabs on Traue because she seemed genuinely friendly. I vaguely recall overhearing her talking to a fan that was gushing about how beautiful she was, and she said something to the effect that her teeth were all crooked, and she never liked her nose or something like that. How weird is that? Seventh Son was indeed a train wreck, and I think Bridges was legit drunk throughout most of the film.
