94% with 294 reviews. This must be the steadiest score ever. But was it better than the Dark Knight? It is vastly better than The Dark Knight.

For the record, it also has an A+ Cinemascore.

But was it better than the Dark Knight? It is vastly better than The Dark Knight. I think I have to agree…but for the record I’ve never been one of the people touting The Dark Knight as the supreme king of comic book films. I’ve always loved the performances, specifically Ledgers, but as a Batman story it always felt lacking to me.

Agreed, in all fairness the Dark Knight probably stopped being the gold standard of comic book movies after the first Avenger's film arrived. Every once in a while I have to take a temperature check to be sure, though. Call it CBM-related PTSD.

I’ve always found it weird to try to pin one film as THE definitive film for a genre this vast. Maybe when it was only a handful of films. But now, it’s so diverse, one film just can’t sum it up, and can’t be so good it’s beyond everything.
