General feelings of its overall content?
Im not sure if they are as good as they used to be but still up there.
True Det- season 1 was excellent, season 2 meh, season 3 meh again but wasnt as interesting as the previous season- at least that one had several leading characters. Also it just recycled the different time periods idea from the first season
Game of Thrones-great until the final season but to hardcore fans, it started dipping before that when it went away from the books ie Dorne
Chernobyl-I guess undeniably excellent. Havent seen it
Succession-a great show
Perry Mason-great production and atmospheric but the story is kinda average. Havent seen the original
Westworld-similar with True Detective as it progressed re quality
Watchmen-underwhelming, relied too much on the ending. Didnt like the politics as it was too shoehorned imo. A couple of great episodes but not nearly enough for the series on the whole
Silicon Valley-a truly funny show lol
The Outsider-kinda bland, havent finished it
Raised By Wolves-great scifi show if you dont mind some philosophy and androids

This was on Ackbar's best/favorite thread:
As of 10 years ago, I would have said:
Battlestar Galactica (SyFy) The West Wing (NBC) MAD MEN (AMC) Friday Night Lights (NBC) Arrested Development (FOX)
but modern day TV is far superior, so:
Succession (HBO) The Deuce (HBO) Big Little Lies (HBO) My Brilliant Friend (HBO) The Plot Against America (HBO)

I got a free 30 day trial for HBO Max with my copy of Cyberpunk 2077. I'm planning on redeeming it after Christmas to watch Wonder Woman.

Watching from home was a big success. Next up is DUNE? I actually read they will are considering not releasing Dune on HBO Max at the same time as the theaters. Lets just hope this becomes a non issue and that theaters will be safe again soon. Because there is nothing like watching movies on the big screen.

All except one of the HBO shows I've watched have been on DVD or Blu-ray (since I don't have Pay TV). Some shows I've watched all of, others I'm still in the process of working my way through.
Big Little Lies (Season 1)
Boardwalk Empire
Carnivàle
Game of Thrones
His Dark Materials (Season 1)
My Brilliant Friend (Season 1)
True Blood
True Detective (Seasons 1 & 2)
Westworld (Seasons 1 & 2)

HBO used to lead the pack in true crime documentaries. I've noticed Netflix has been seriously eroding that advantage as of late. Although neither is fully comprehensive, Night Stalker was leagues ahead of something like HBO's lukewarm, I'll Be Gone in the Dark. I like Oswald and all, but a documentary about his wife's investigation took the focus away from the actual subject.

HBO and HBO Max have seen their combined U.S. subscribers count reportedly jump to more than 41 million.
That’s a full two years faster than the company’s initial forecast according to AT&T CEO John Stankey as he discussed the service’s performance over the fourth quarter of 2020 this week.
The jump in numbers was helped by the premiere of “Wonder Woman 1984” on the service, buzzy shows like “The Flight Attendant” and “The Undoing,” and WarnerMedia finally reaching distribution deals with Amazon and Roku to get the service on their media players.
WarnerMedia will release their entire 2021 film slate simultaneously in cinemas and on HBO Max (for limited periods), and a new promo for that initiative today shows off some more footage from the films participating.
WarnerMedia is planning to launch an advertising-supported version of HBO Max later this year with the company aiming to reach 50-55 million customers in the U.S. by 2025. At present, HBO and HBO Max combined have 61 million subscribers worldwide, though ‘Max’ has yet to launch outside the United States.

Whenever I search, I add the space in between HBO and Max and nothing comes up.

I visit a site called DarkHorizons every morning, that's where I get all of my entertainment news, lately I have been copying his articles in their entirety, he sometimes posts a source ( ie Variety ) at the end of his articles, but not always.
