Disappointing, but not surprising.

That’s a shame. Season 1 was so good. I haven’t watched this latest season but seasons 2 and 3 felt oftentimes rudderless, or like the only point was to dupe the audience until a big reveal. Lots of cool moments sprinkled throughout tho. Wonder if it will get the movie treatment down the road like Deadwood.

It's worth noting that the price hike is "effective immediately." As in Thursday, Jan. 12. It's low key scum bag to do that without notice. Glad I don't pay for it. These guys must be hemorrhaging cash badly.

i didn't realize people were so cheap/broke that they would complain about one dollar my cable bill is over 200 It's not all about the money. It's a common courtesy to inform people that you're planning to increase the subscription cost. Imagine if this were your apartment lease or a car note. If they raise the cost of the sub by a dollar today and no one complains or ends their subscription, that will only encourage them to do the same more frequently at a higher cost with no warning or justification. Based on last year's hacking and slashing of Max content alone, they should be refunding their customers. This was a super shady move on WB's part.

Based on last year's hacking and slashing of Max content alone, they should be refunding their customers. This was a super shady move on WB's part. didn't disney just raise by 3 dollars? Yes, Disney+ increased the monthly subscription cost from 7.99 to 11.99 late last year. Customers were given 30 days' notice (more if you consider their informal announcement on a previous earnings call). They also gave customers the option to keep their subscription costs down by converting to an annual subscription at the 7.99 rate. Additionally, they launched an ad-supported tier which is cheaper than the original subscription pricing if the increase proved to be untenable. Disney+ also has several cost-saving options in the form of bundles with Hulu and ESPN. Disney gave advance notice and provided options for customers who wanted to save money. HBO Max cut content, raised the price with a single day's notice, and offered no options to save on cost - kinda shady if you ask me, but to each their own.

It turns out that HBO Max and Discovery+ are not going to combine into one streaming service after all. They realized that Discovery+ subscribers were not willing to pay more to get stuff they didn't want, so they will remain 2 separate streamers. I can envision a bundle deal of some kind in the future.

That's a good sign.
"....As HBO Max becomes simply Max, users have reported crashes and several technical difficulties in the switch."

So this week was the first I hopped on the new Max reworked app...formerly HBO Max or whatever. Is anyone else having trouble with it? Im consistently having issues with movies and tv shows giving me a random load buffering arrow or whatever while Im watching. It happened with a movie a few days ago and a tv episode yesterday. I just saw a youtube video talking about it too.

If it's anything like the last time (i.e., HBO -> HBOMax), you'll likely need to give them a month to work out all the major kinks. I heard from those brave enough to be early adopters that the UI sucks and the content organization makes no sense.

I heard from those brave enough to be early adopters that the UI sucks and the content organization makes no sense. The first thing I noticed was I couldn’t find the ‘just added’ section. As someone who peruses many streaming sites this section is incredibly helpful at finding new things to watch rather than scrolling past the same 9 dozen titles over and over every time I’m in the menu.

I just started reading a King novel (Revival) yesterday. Salems Lot is among my top 3 favorite King stories. I hope the adaptation does it justice.

I don’t know either actor but I’m really looking forward to this adaptation.
