I honestly don’t think there’s any chance Venom will be in the MCU. It seems there will be a Holland vs Hardy movie though at some point. I guess it will technically take place in the MCU’s universe, but I don’t think it will be official MCU canon. If that makes any sense. LOL I wouldn't be surprised if he shows up in No Way Home, possibly as a post credit scene. It's no secret that Sony wants this to happen. Id be surprised if Feige allows this into anything he’s doing. Maybe he’s contractually obligated to, IDK, but if he has the ability to prevent it, his integrity and commitment quality would intervene. It’s obviously beneath him and the work he’s done.

Yeah Ive got nothing for that. Much like the DCEU, Ive seen enough from Sony. They can do their own crap in their own space. I won’t pay a lick of attention. Just as long as Feige stays out of whatever it is they’re doing. The movie is not much more than a cartoon translated to live action. I forgot most of it within a couple of hours of seeing it. Im seriously wondering, how is it these other studios are really this bad? We don’t have to rehash the list, we know the bumblings the other 3 have consistently had, and I get that Marvel is consistently good on a level nobody has been. Ok fine, it’s not fair to compare everybody to that standard. But you can expect Sony to be bad at this point. Seriously, does anybody expect Morbius to be good now? I don’t. Does anybody expect Flash not to be another WW84? I don’t. It’s hard to count on them for anything.

The experience was like getting a routine cleaning at the dentist. Outside of the post-credit scene, I registered zero engagement with it. I can see why these films are successful in the moment; they scratch a particular fan itch. Sony and DC seem to officially have given up on creating anything meant to last beyond two minutes from now. At the rate the genre is moving, in another ten years, there will be the Infinity Saga and everything else that sort of happened in between.

LOL Yeah the way I look at this, is it’s just Sony’s fan fic daydream about “IF” they were in the MCU. Basically. I wonder how many movies they’ll have Tom for though. Is he still under contract? I can’t find any info on it. It’d be kind of funny if he just bailed on them.

Will Sony even negotiate with Disney? After the success of Venom 2 they definitely don’t need Marvel Studios anymore.

I know that after No Way Home they have 1 crossover film to use him in after the renegotiations. So I guess we'll see what happens after that.

So here's my question to you guys:
Would it be a bad thing if Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock/Venom stays in the MCU for the long run?
Personally I wouldn't care as long as the Spider-Man characters get to stay in the MCU for the long run.

I would FANBOY OUT at the sight!

This is what Feige said about that post credit scene.
"There was a lot of coordination — and if you don’t know all the coordination yet, I’m not going to be the one to tell you — but yes, between Sony and Marvel and the Venom team and the No Way Home team. We worked together on it."

Great discussion, guys. Everyone should check this out. The Venom movies, along with the rest of the Sony franchise, are pointless to me. I don't plan to see or discuss any of their upcoming films (outside of the ones co-produced by Marvel). I would be fine in a world where none of the current Sony/Marvel films get made. For those who enjoy them, this isn't a commentary on you or your taste in movies.

The most noteworthy event happens at the end of the film, and it is a spoiler. It was the worst thing I've seen in a comic book movie in a long time… and considering that I saw Wonder Woman 1984, that's really saying something. Throughout the film, I found myself thinking that the name Cleetus sounds like a part of the female genitalia. Pair that with Venom's enormous tongue, and you have a recipe for a toxic thought cycle. If any of the characters in the film had to make a sudden trip "downtown," I'd have likely fallen over stone dead from an aneurism.

Sony announced Venom 3 at Cinemacon. And this was reportedly what they wanted for the plot according to Forbes (which was quoting 4chan so who knows). "..Venom 3 will have Tom Hardy and Michelle Williams return (confirmed) with Andy Serkis directing. Toxin becomes a new ally vigilante that joins with Venom to hunt Xenophage."

Watched it last night. Nothing special but I enjoyed it for what it was. Was kind of hard to root for the love story aspect when his former fiancé was not a very likable character at all.
