I didn't really like the first one, but seeing Carnage on the big screen should be pretty cool.

Yeah I also didnt really like it. That lobster tank scene.... jikes.
But it wasnt so bad I will not see the sequel. Even if I personally think Sony should seel the rights to Spider-man back to Marvel.

I like it. Although that post-credits scene was awful

I never watched it. The character just seemed too watered down to me without a Spider-Man connection.

I liked it better than expected. As for the sequel, it's hard not to be excited about seeing Carnage.

I thought the first one was just ok. Nothing special but entertaining enough that I will see the sequel.

I really don’t see how much of anything could be considered good about the first one. It did start off good, I was invested and it had couple of decent action scenes I guess but that’s really meaningless because pretty quickly the entire plot became about as simplistic as it could have been. There’s just nothing there. The bad guy vaguely wants to use symbiotes for space travel,,, what? And the entire Riot journey doesn’t even make sense. Idk, I think this is the kind of bad film that it’s a real shame did so well.

You all are breaking my heart not liking the first one 😭 I am actually hoping Marvel is doing a bit of a anti hero phase between Venom and Morbius and add a few more. The anti heroes are so fascinating and a lot of fun to me no matter the genre. Breaking my heart guys considering Ekecktra is an anti-hero 😛 Plus Venom has Tom freaking Hardy. Nuff said lol

Nuff said lol I was actually into the first half. It’s not terrible or anything, I just realized about halfway though that I didn’t feel anything particularly interesting 🧐 or thoughtful was happening. It just doesn’t really go anywhere and ends up feeling pretty basic I guess I would say. So for instance they do this whole series of scenes with Riot moving across the world. But none of it matters to the plot. He just ends up merging with the bad guy who keeps doing the same thing he was doing. They could have cut all of that out and nothing would change. Also it’s really unclear what the villains plan really is or why he’s so convinced merging people with symbiotes is his choice for populating other planets. It just kind of is. Essentially there’s not a whole lot of thoughtful narrative here. It’s all face value.

The whole back and forth between Venom and Eddie is gold. Hopefully the second one will give you what you are looking for. I love the more serious adaptations of comics but sometimes you just want to have fun. Always remember it is from a comic. As wonderful as graphic novels can be it is still fantasy. Less stressful if you remember that 😛

Venom is a turn your brain off film, and that’s fine, nothing wrong with that, but those are just never going to make my list of films I care about. I also kind of feel that’s a waste. Sony could have worked with Marvel Studios to do something more with it. IMO

Andy Serkis gives latest news. TEXT: According to a conversation with ComicBookMovie.com, Serkis says Sony is simply waiting for the pandemic to pan out to see how the box office fares before launching the marketing for Let There Be Carnage. Despite a June release, the outfit has yet to release a trailer or any time of marketing outside of the initial logo teaser. "I’m super excited about it. Again, it’s not something I can particularly talk about right now because we’re saving it for when everybody can go and enjoy it in the cinema," Serkis tells the site. "I don’t want to blow it or talk about it too much before then, but I’ve had a ball working on that film. It’s been great. [It’s] another bunch of brilliant actors, and it’s headed up by another keen SAS man, Tom Hardy [Laughs]. I hope you won’t feel disappointed. It was a real pleasure working on it." comicbook.com/marvel/news/venom-2-andy-serkis-saving-until-everyone-can-see-in-theaters/

I didn't really like the first one, but seeing Carnage on the big screen should be pretty cool. The first one was in the league of SS and WW84 where it’s hard to know what they were thinking. They could always do a much better sequel, so hopefully they will, but I can help but think if Sony just worked with Marvel a little more closely this could all be so much bigger than it is. They could get Tom in a giant Maximum Carnage story, but instead it’s just this best they can do with very little type thing. And by best they can do I mean, maybe it will be alright.
