Oscar is no spring chicken I’ll give you that, but by comparison he’s 42 and his show comes out the year Blade even starts filming. That said, perhaps Blade actually debuts in that series. Hummm. Anyway it wasn’t a condemnation, just a curiosity The fact Blade may show in Moonknight was what I was hinting at.

I’m realizing that mahershala ali is going to be over 50 by the time they get this out in theater with production being pushed to 2022 now. It’s just a fairly old age to be starting an action heavy franchise and it makes me wonder if this is more of a one off thing they don’t intend to weave into much of a larger fabric. Maybe a few a spot appearances or something in other films. IDK, maybe it doesn’t mean anything and Ali is capable of carrying an action trilogy till he’s 60, but it’s noteworthy anyway. Again with the age thing? Sylvester Stallone is 75 and he's working on Expendables 4. He made the first Expendables when he was 64. Dwayne Johnson just turned 49 and he's just starting Black Adam. Tom Cruise is 59 and does his own stunts in Mission Impossible 7 and 8

alright alright. Maybe I’m crazy. I’m too used to pro sports where people are done at 40 I’m also used to Bond where those guys have always been considered to be aging out by the time they got to 50. So that’s sort of my baseline. Mind you, I’m not against it. Ali is going to kill this so I’m pumped. It just makes me wonder if they really have long term plans.

Blade had a daughter at one point. The film could be him training her as well.

Also would it be a bad thing if Blade was a one and done thing? Does every film need to have a sequel?

So for starters, Delroy Lindo has been cast. He's most likely playing Jamal Afari, Blade's mentor and the inspiration behind Kris Kristofferson's Abraham Whistler from the Wesley Snipes films.

Great actor. Glad to see him cast.

I’m getting more and more interested in this. I could never get into the original Wesley Snipes version though. I don’t know if that means I’m not a Blade fan, or I’m just not a fan of that interpretation.

Hasnt aged well I liked the first movie better than I thought. The second one is alright but I was a bit disappointed since it was directed by Guillermo del Toro. Never bothered to watch Blade:Trinity.

Quite a leap there, as Fury is still around. Will Blade be a Shield Agent too?

Regarding the old Blade flicks...Ive always loved the first Blade and I probably liked the second Blade a bit more for the added body horror elements and even though underdeveloped I really liked the Bloodpack. Blade Trinity was a big disappointment.

Seems like a missed opportunity not to feature him in Captain Marbles 2. But then again, Nick Fury hasn’t been important to the Avengers since the 2012 movie. They probably should’ve killed him for real in Winter Soldier.

It’s going to be interesting because Fury has been in the background for so long. Since Age of Ultron. So what he’s been up to is going to be epic. It has to be. What has he been after?

Could have killed him, but I’m not a huge fan of burning characters unless it just really makes sense to do it. I think having him as the lead of a major undercover effort against an invasion is going to be super worth the wait

Blade Trinity was a big disappointment. Blade is actually a pretty good series. I didn’t pay much attention to it at the time. But you can rewatch now and it’s pretty enjoyable. A worthy series of the 90’s that probably doesn’t get enough credit because only major characters got credit back then. It wasn’t his time. I hope this new version rocks!!!

In my circles it had a huge following. Even when Blade 2 came out me and most of my friends were very excited for it. This was before superhero hype tho. Most people didn’t really even know he was based off a comic book character. It just reveled in that late 90s early 2000s leather action phase and the source material worked well for it. Wesley Snipes was a bad mfer too. He had an action fan base.
