Way ahead of you! I actually have four spare blu ray players. LOL. I picked them up from friends and family who were giving them away. Yeah. And if I were you I would get some new ones as well. They dont cost much. But if they stop making discs then you dont have access to new stuff anymore. You'd become like my father. He has a separate tv connected to a vcr so he can still watch what he taped in the early 80's. I can adapt when I have to. In the future I will probably buy digital versions of movies. I wouldn’t mind that. Just no streaming. But dvd and blu ray are still far more popular than most people thought they would be at this point. They could hold on for another decade, I think.

Oh easily. I hope they will continue for the MCU sake alone. I love stacking them up in order and make a picture of them.

Fair enough, I guess this all comes down to each individual's personal ethos. I've embraced a more minimalist lifestyle over the years. Being an obsessive comic book collector for over a decade got me thinking about everything I "collect." At one point, my 25000-issues comic book collection was starting to turn into a second job to manage. The same was the case for my disk collection, which numbered in the five figures. I wanted to make the shift more towards creating rather than consuming. That's not a knock on people who choose otherwise, but my possessions and obsession with collecting things was started to close in on me. I had a lot of stuff, and I was only using or experiencing a fraction of it very sporadically. I was even starting to forget what I owned on disk and making repeat purchases after a while. So then I needed a bar code scanner and software to keep up. Relative to my old collection-based habits, my leasing/renting strategy is a fraction of the cost, has cut down my clutter considerably, and has left me a lot more mindful of how I use my time. Regarding movies, I only own what is essential or extremely rare - everything else is usually just a click or two away. To each his own, my friend. I can understand that. I admit one of the reasons I am quick to become defensive over physical media is that it is one of the main things I enjoy collecting. I also used to derive a tremendous amount of satisfaction and enjoyment from collecting DVDs and, later on, Blu-rays. I had a massive collection of which I was very proud. Crossing the 10k mark was a turning point for me. I was aggressive when it came to cost savings. I would spend hours hunting through bargain bins, buying used on eBay, buying bundles/lots, and traveling to obscure brick-and-mortars for closeout deals. Even with my high level of diligence around controlling cost, I could no longer ignore the amount of money and time I spent on my movie collecting hobby (not to mention all the other shit I was collecting). At the time, I also lived in a relatively small apartment with my significant other, and space was at a premium. An accident that caused water damage to about a third of my collection was the final straw. I decided to sell everything, and I haven't looked back ever since. But I digress; I totaled up the cost of all of the streaming services I have to ensure that I wasn't trying to convince myself of something that wasn't true. I spent approximatley $50 per month on streaming services in 2020. That's down from about $70 per month in 2018 and 2019. While not a huge burden based on my current income, I admit that neither amount is insignificant annually. I am a part of a sharing network in which I share my streaming accounts with friends, and they allow me access to their services where they have surplus user slots. I currently subscribe to or have access to the following services. Netflix Disney+ HBO Max The Criterion Channel Shudder Hulu Amazon Prime Apple TV+ (with AMC, Showtime, and CBS All-Access add-ons) When I divide the cost of all of the services I have access to or subscribe to directly, my total cost for all streaming services is $2.97 per month, and I freely admit that I do not watch the vast majority of what I can access. I am very diligent about suspending accounts once a series or show I'm interested in is over (the best way to do this is to avoid annual plans whenever possible). For example, Shudder, which I currently pay for, I only use for two months out of the year (typically September and October) when I want to marathon horror content. After that, the service is put to sleep for the next ten months.

Is it true that D+ eliminated the season three Simpsons episode that has Michael Jackson in it?
That’s so lame. Sure, Jackson was a real weird creep that deserves to be erased from history. But you can’t just delete a classic Simpsons episode! Those shows are gold!
