What’s your favorite beer/beers to drink? I bought a case of Stella Artois from Costco last month so I’ve been drinking that a few times a week. It’s my main go to beer. maximuraJayman

Much respect to Sam Adams for pushing their variety to put an end to the craft beer dark ages. I won't say they have the best of many styles bit they did help bring them to mainstream.

Oh I thought stellas would be an easy one to get. I figured if they carry them at my local 7 elevens everybody else would have an easy time getting them

I've been testing the waters on more common beers recently to find some easy go to options. Killian's is a solid red and Beck's is a pretty reasonable German Pilsner. I've found a few dry stouts I consider superior to Guinness but they're mostly local so a bit tough to recommend.

This is my favorite beer. But it’s hard to find. Nice. Hefeweizen is great. My wife's preference is the Weihenstephan, but we're both pretty happy with a lot of them. The banana and clove taste is amazing.

I’ll have to see if I can find that one. That Erdinger is a comparable flavor. The banana taste is a product of an acid used in the process rather than actual banana. There's also a pour technique from the bottle of any hefeweizen where you pour all but a fifth of it, then swirl the bottom of it several times to break up and lift the settled yeast before pouring the remainder. It gives it the full clouded effect signature to the style.

The funny thing is, America killed the commonality of many of these beers during prohibition. Many of the styles coming back in as craft beer are just a return to what we used to know.

I may have been thinking of an African beer I had at Disney for the weird animal beer in the chat.

A similar image was used on an Excel spreadsheet for my countdown to return from Iraq. It filled up a tiny bit each day... I was put on an alcohol watch when I returned... Just wanted a damn Guinness.

I have a vast range of beers I love and I rarely get the same one twice in a row.
I love coffee and milk stouts, red ales, along with floral, citrus and Baltic IPAs (there’s a huge difference in flavor of hops - they aren’t all bitter), and in general I live for most anything local. I get off on local breweries and trying a flight of different brews. Local breweries are what beer is all about.

There’s a German themed town in Eastern Washington that I visit every summer. There’s a brotwurst place with over twenty types of mustard, soft pretzels with garlic sauce and ice cold German beer. God I missed that place this year. Damn COVID.
