I have no idea if any of you play D&D, but their numbers have gone up tremendously during lockdowns. I am a first time DM and player, in a four man group that is about to play some new content. I'd be happy to discuss further, but figured I'd see if there was any interest in such a discussion before unloading an overly detailed, yet oddly underwritten, diatribe about my experience to date. A word of warning, if you bite on this conversation, I am prepared to go full nerd. If we end up having enough interest, perhaps we could do a few one offs or limited adventures as an extension of the podcast concept, maybe even few character builds or early play Q&A type stuff, or even a longer campaign if we have fun with those, but we shall see how the conversation goes.

I go to more than my share of Renaissance Faires, but I regret to admit that my outfits are limited to fairly serfish or minor squire at best. I would need a lot of armor and equipment upgrades prior to claiming any ability to stand around such a group.

Any interest in this? I dont mind doing it one weekend but the trouble is time zones as this game can be long right?
I remember playing game of thrones, a bit like Risk and we took much longer than necessary lol

Any interest in this? I dont mind doing it one weekend but the trouble is time zones as this game can be long right? I remember playing game of thrones, a bit like Risk and we took much longer than necessary lol Large campaigns can easily take a ton of sessions, even when running 3+ hour sessions. That said, there isn't actually a reason to have to play large campaigns or extended sessions. Smaller campaigns are available, or a good DM could put together a one shot style campaign intended for a few brief episodes. My only experience to date is playing and DMing the Lost Mines of Phandelver starting campaign, so it may require a more practiced hand to DM given the variables. Meh, we will see how interest is. If anyone has any style preferences or questions, we can try to make a campaign centered around what interested players would be interested in. I know it can technically be played with virtually any concept (MCU, Star Trek, Star Wars) but that sort of branch out is so outside of my wheel house, it's likely beyond my skill to DM. Again, if there's any interest, message me or chat it up on here and we'll see what comes of it.
