Wish they'd just do a live-action movie. I think most people had moved past the 2011 movie.

Wish they'd just do a live-action movie. I think most people had moved past the 2011 movie. It's a shame that they abandoned their original concept. According to rumors, the series was going to pivot back and forth through time between Alan Scott (1940s) and Hal Jordan (2000s), somehow linking their stories together at some point.

That could’ve been interesting. Alan Scott is my least familiar Green Lantern but I think he’s the only one who’s not a part of the intergalactic police force. His power is derived from a separate source I believe.

I'm not an Alan Scott expert, but I think he got his powers from a magic lamp. He's not a cop, and he doesn't answer to the Guardians. I heard he was recently reintroduced as a gay man. I'm sure that's part of why Berlanti was so interested in adapting him to live-action. Not sure exactly when Jon Stewart became so popular.

I think of all the Lanterns he come across as the most even keeled. He’s an ex soldier and engineer (I think), so his constructs tend to be very well crafted and often militaristic. As a personality tho he’s often my least favorite. He’s almost the straight man to everyone else’s more flamboyant personalities which is often needed in a story. They can’t all be goofballs. But because of that he rarely stands out to me. Myself I prefer Guy Gardner who has the imagination of a brick but is also as tough as one. His tactical thought process usually ends with him hitting his opponents head on. He’s also a jerk. I love him.

At one point, he seemed poised to be the most popular Lantern of all time. I wish they'd have just added an S to the title for the follow up to 2011 (à la Aliens) and made it a true ensemble piece. For all the flak that 2011 gets, it was cool to see so many Lanterns in one film.

As much as I love Reynolds as Deadpool I do think he was miscast as Hal Jordan. But outside of that, the timing of 3d being a thing and Hector Hammond as the main bad, I thought it was a decent first entry into the Green Lantern universe.

After a publication said that the show had been scrapped and would no longer move forward, the new DC Studios co-head James Gunn went online to debunk the rumor and called it “fake.”

So James Gunn briefly talked about it and he doesn't think it was even in the DCEU before it got canceled.
