You mean them pulling a Kinberg and getting the same writer behind the movie no one liked? Yeah, it inspires confidence.

He wasnt, it was the second version of the same name apparently. Trying to fit in as many lanterns as possible and no Hal. Showrunner closest thing is lego batman lol

I'm just never going to watch a show about a group of guys, gals, and extraterrestrials who can warp green plasma energy into funky shapes.
I'm not a Green Lantern hater. There are plenty of good stories featuring the character. Unfortunately, he's a character that has never worked for me in any live-action or animated setting. There's just something about the powerset that doesn't translate...

I'm assuming it would be a Lantern Corps show that bleeds into the various chromatic rings. My only demand of a Green Lantern show is Guy Gardner.

Also about Hal and John Stewart not being included shouldve been obvious as to why. After watching a Campea video, I learned that they are probably using them for films lol

I think it's the "anything you can imagine" aspect combined with the limitations of a few writers using their own experiences as the total imagination. It's like a future movie made in the 80's. All of the computers use DOS, the outfits are straight out of a Richard Simmons workout video, and the hair is blown out. I don't know how you resolve that on film, but it seems like a power set limited by a 4th wall of imagination that an interstellar fighter shouldn't be limited by.

There is a lot wrong with Green Lantern, in my opinion... I wish the constructs weren't tethered to the ring. It's also somewhat problematic that they have to be bright green. Hal Jordan is a boring character; he was better off dead. The color yellow and wood weakness should have been retconned out long ago; they're a silly holdover from the silver age. And, for an intergalactic-bassed property, there's too much focus on humans.

Did they actually bring back that ridiculous yellow and wood thing? Wouldn't Sinestro just be able to kill them on sight?

A weakness against a common color while possessing a yellow sun should make Earth a terrible place for a Lantern, given the emphasis on it for Supes. That was a tragic weakness originally, bringing it back is regrettable. I could deal with wood, as it would make for some fun opponent potential, but the color is insanity.

This is from the official wiki. Yellow Impurity: Formerly, the rings were unable to directly affect yellow. Now, a wearer can bypass this if they can 'accept fear', which is personified by the color yellow. Rookie lanterns are more susceptible to fear and thus vulnerable to the color yellow. The created a dumb loophole instead of just removing the weakness / vulnerability altogether.

Even though it is fiction I really hate it when they change story lines just because they are running out of ideas. Like there was never a Superboy in the orig. story of Superman. Or Oh, so in this movie version Peter can now shoot webs directly out of his wrists because his body makes it? And now movies in series are ignoring previous sequels such as H.Ween and Terminator.

I wouldn't care, as the ring can go, much like Mjolnir, to anyone worthy, but from an intelligent production standard, going with an unheard of character for it is pretty high risk given the less than positive response to the Green Lantern film. I may have pulled that punch for a mid-season transfer to a new wielder.

An interview with Seth Grahame-Smith: There was no mention of the Green Lantern TV series during DC FanDome, but it remains in the works for HBO Max. Finn Wittrock has been cast as Guy Gardner, while Jeremy Irvine will take on the role of Alan Scott. Tobias Menzies, meanwhile, has been rumoured for Sinestro, and we're still waiting for news on characters like Jessica Cruz, Simon Baz, Kilowog, and the newly created Bree Jarta. Collider recently caught up with showrunner Seth Grahame-Smith, and managed to get a minor update on the sheer scale of the ambitious live-action (small screen) project. "Yeah, that show is gigantic," the filmmaker teased. "It has taken quite a bit of time to get to this point and it’s just a big, big undertaking. It’s going really well. All I can say is that it’s going really well and there are gonna be Green Lanterns in it, and it’s gonna be on HBO Max." As for his interest in the DC Universe, Grahame-Smith - who was once attached to helm The Flash - revealed that he wasn't big into comic books, but was introduced through the movies. "I’ll admit, I wasn’t like a huge comic book kid. I was a huge movie kid. And so, my introduction to DC Comics came through the '89 Batman movie. When that movie came out, I was like, 'Oh, my God, Batman is the coolest,' and I started reading Batman comic books." "But Green Lantern is something that, to be honest with you, just came to me later, by way of just talking about doing the show," he added. "The possibility of doing the show led me down a deep dive of Green Lantern lore. We’ll see. It’s gonna be a while before the world gets to see that, but we are very, very busy at work, as we speak."
