Oh I'm not giving up brother. Don't get me wrong. I'm not going full Wellibers as it were lol. I love what they've done in Loki in terms of branching timelines, and WandaVision with warped reality, etc. They're setting up really interesting ways to play with alternate realities. I'm just trying to be realistic about it. I honestly don't quite know what we're looking at here and there's all this fan overeaction that's a little hard to see through. I feel like people may be once again getting hyped over things that might not happen the way they think, and the flip side of that is people getting upset over things that might not happen. So I can't get excited or upset about something I'm not convinced about. Know what I'm saying? :-) I think Marvel is letting us play the hype game for them, and No Way Home might be quite different than what many are expecting. I see no reason to lose confidence now. Time travel was a big risk. But it paid off nicely in End Game. This movie is gonna be totally WIZARD. Trust me on this. Spidey NWH, Dr Strange MoM and Thor Love and Thunder are going to be the 3 of the best MCU movies ever! No question. Also, multiverse aside, Spidey fighting Dr Strange in the mirror dimension! What?! That’s fucking awesome! Right? Come on, Arch. I need a high five on this. ✋🏻 Heyyyy, I'm not really losing confidence. I said I think this looks like the best possible version of what they're trying to do. And I'm still interested in the idea of these alt realities as variants as established in Loki. It's just the one area where they could potentially go too far. I think it would help to understand that my excitement is only in how it works within the context of the MCU. If you can think about it that way, that story matters most, then you might be able to see that the hoopla about the returning cast, kind of just looks like a circus to me as opposed to something exciting. What I'm in it for, is what they're doing with them, and I won't know that until I see the film. I can only be nervous until then, and it's directly because of who they've brought back. If it was brand new actors I wouldn't be nervous at all. BUT, I still think it looks good. So that's the best I can do right now.

If it was brand new actors I wouldn't be nervous at all. BUT, I still think it looks good. So that's the best I can do right now. That's the best articulation of how I feel about this trailer. I'm not in it to see legacy characters return for the sake of returning, especially since they have no ties to the creators that bought them to life in live-action in the first place. Aside from Dr. Strange's "strange" behavior, all the trailer did for me was confirm every single rumor that's already been circulating for nearly a year or more about the film. This would be an opportune moment to delve into the toxic side of spoiler and speculation culture, but I won't. I hate that I have to live in a world where I can never be surprised or delighted by anything, but I digress. The trailer wasn't much more than a laser pointer for us fan kittens. The premise of NWH, as demonstrated via the trailers, is off the order of sophistication of a Home Alone film. Wong is probably climbing K2 when he suddenly realizes he left Peter in the sanctum alone - and evil Dr. Strange is coming to get him. "Oh, no!" Time to make that Kevin O-face (McCallister, not Feige). Steve and Pete then proceed to break the universe. Yah! Wong scolding Stange, and that follow-up wink was cringe. Why is this multiverse incursion not tied to the Loki incursions? It's the same deal, except one is caused by reckless magic, and the other is science gone wrong? Very sloppy. "Oh, you were messing with the multiverse, too? What a coinkidink, so were we! Another!!" This looks like it will be one of the few creative decisions that Marvel Studios has made that I disagree with. It's up there with Tony as the inventor of Ultron. It should have been Hank.

This movie looms like pure fan service created to serve the Sony overlord just so they can have Spider-man in the MCU. To me, thats not worth it.

Mysterio, Morbius, Scorpion, Carnage and Venom too Long shots: a) Chameleon (Dimitri) from Far From Home b) Ned Leeds (Hobgoblin), since everyone's memory is wiped, how will this affect their friendship?

Interesting thought mentioned-"Hello Peter" is said to Tobey's Spider-Man. A misdirect in the trailer. It just didnt show him

Dr Strange seems a little sinister to me there. Really curious what’s up. That’s what I’m talking about! Focus on the positive, man. As for Strange. I really think it’s just the quick trailer edits taking things out of context. There’s obviously so much more to those scenes we don’t know yet. There’s clearly a huge jump there between the start of the spell and it going wrong. And Wong’s warning could very well be about a different spell- something related to the frozen sanctum. We just don’t know yet, and shouldn’t assume he’s an “evil variant” based on this alone (because he’s not).

I have absolutely no idea what’s going on with it and I felt like most of what we saw is purposefully deceptive. So yeah. I agree

So apparently that Andrew Garfield set picture was claimed recently by Sony, which probably means it wasn't fake like some believed.

Can we just take a minute and appreciate the de-ageing technology? Alfred Molina looks great! I thought that too! Except I can't tell if it's de-aging technology in the studio or if his de-aging technology is some incredible skin cream, fresh air and kale, but wow! He looks good!

I kind of hope they don’t de-age Tobey or Defoe though. It just seems unnecessary to me. Aging is part of life. No one likes it, but it’s reality. I think these characters should just look their current age. And Toby and Defoe still look pretty good today. Also, if Toby is older he can play the role of mentor to MCU Peter?

That's what I feel too. I like the idea of an older, semi-retired Spiderman whose struggle is putting the suit back on. Especially if he has wife and kids. I like the idea of his Spiderman being to last to come on board because he thought he was out for good.

That man was born to play the Green Gobbler! He could had played a mean Joker in the 1990s if they just rebooted the Batman movies entirely when Tim Burton left.

That man was born to play the Green Gobbler! He was absolutely perfectly cast. I don't blame Sony and Marvel for bringing him back as Green Goblin. Let's be honest the next actor that plays Green Goblin has huge shoes to fill.

To be fair the MCU has taken some lazy routes before. Please tell me where. No character in the MCU was introduced in a way where he/she just stepped in through a multiversal portal. Closest thing I could think of is Hela's entrance in Thor: Ragnarok.

Lazy is not the first word that comes to mind when I think of the MCU. For better or worse, they do put in the work. That's what's so troubling about the multiverse.
