Legend has it that the ghosts of Nigel and Cedric Fairservice are still haunting KACL’s studios, frightening unwary interns with long speeches about never returning to the scene of their boyhoods in Surrey, romping with their school chums in the fens and spinneys, when the twilight bathed the hedgerows like a lambent flame. Brr, terrifying.

Brr, terrifying. So sad. The last of the Fairservice family lineage and one innocent ice cream man all gone. They say at night you can sometimes hear the haunting chimes of the ice cream truck in the hallways.

Mailman, a real good guy, pulled up yesterday. “What’s new with you?” he says. “Everything good?” “Everything’s good,” say I. “How about you?” “Yeah, everything good?” he repeats. “Anything new with you? Not married yet, no girlfriend?” “I keep hoping,” I say, thinking that it must be really bad if even the mailman’s remarking on it. Then I see this cartoon. Ha. I took a sleep study Saturday night-Sunday morning (it was hellish, but only in the Inferno’s first, limbonic circle). The technician was hooking up all those goddam electrodes that made me look like the Frankenstein Monster when he asked, “So, you married?” “No,” I said. “Oh, you don’t want to get married?” “Oh, sure I do. I just… I’m just not married yet.” “Yeah,” he said. “It’s good to get married. You have children.” OK, so granted that English wasn’t his first language. But am I just at that age where that’s the subject people start off with? Grumble grumble grumble, cue reference to Bobby in Company.

I just figured out that the reason Tony the Tiger extends the Grrrrr in “They’re Grrrrreat” is because he is a growling tiger. I always thought he just had a speech impediment.

In the Boston subreddit, no matter what you post, you will immediately be downvoted to zero. It’s actually hilarious, and it’s pure Boston.
Just as great: Every time someone asks for things to do (downvoted even faster than immediately), a mod-designed bot responds with a post that tells the person to spend the day getting iced coffees at roughly two-dozen Dunkin’s around the city. And bots berate anyone who writes “Beantown,” saying anyone who uses the term is obviously not from “the port city of Boston.” Ah, Boston.

r/boston I'm a 42 year old pop star thinking of moving to Boston and I make over a mil a year. Will I be able to live comfortably or will I need roommates??
I'm coming off a string of impulsive choices and I don't want a move to the port city of Boston making me go 'oops, I did it again' and then I find myself struggling to afford a can of Fix-A-Flat and potatoes from Market Basket so any advice would be great!

It’s at times like this that I am forced to ask myself, “What would we do without Superman?”
Oh wait.

I love old movies in which the characters have nothing better to do than be rich and conduct ridiculous love affairs.
