Just picked back up with season 5. He just dumped Lana. Talk about an emotional rollercoaster 😱 What was the reason again? It depends which break-up in the season jay's talking about. **spoilers below** I know the season started off with Clark losing his powers and being able to have a relationship with Lana, but then he got them back and so that kind of threw a spanner in the works. Then there was the show's 100th episode where Jonathan Kent dies, and Clark finally shares his secret with Lana and proposes, everything's hunky-dory until she's killed in a car accident thanks to her inability to keep Clark's secret from Lex for more than a day, so Clark has Jor-El turn back time, Jonathan dies instead and this time Clark just continues keeping his secret from Lana which ticks her off. And if I remember correctly, they get together one more time but then there's a blonde chick with a blue stone that allows her to tell Clark what to do. Pretty soon she's jumping his bones, Lana catches them, when the mind control wears off, Lana gives Clark the opportunity to come clean about what really happened, but he decides to just let her continue assuming he's a cheating jerk and that's the end of Clana.

Their relationship has been the focal point of the show for years by this point so it can get a little frustrating when the keep pulling the rug out from under the fans with this stuff

Good episode last night. Lana takes these serums which make you die and bring you back to life. That way you can come in contact with love ones that have passed

Season 5 is kind of hit and miss. I have 4 or 5 more episodes from this season. Seeing Lex and Lana hook up is complete cringe. ughh

I’ve been watching the documentary called the vow. About the cult that Allison Mack was involved in and it is mindblowing. One of the guys in the cult documented years of this group and his and a few other’s whole indoctrination process. The sex slave stuff came later and I’m not sure how many girls were recruited for that . But there were a lot of people who didn’t know about that and were indoctrinated and manipulated in other ways. Plus the leader manipulated tons of women outside of the sex cult part of it into having sex. This guy is another Jim Jones. He could get people to do just about anything and still has loyalists. He impregnated 3 sisters who were underage and forced them to have abortions and their father still supports him.

Seeing Lex and Lana hook up is complete cringe. ughh I actually thought Season 5 was one of the 'stronger' seasons of the show. I think it's a toss-up between Season 5 and Season 3 for which is my favourite of the series. I think every season has some 'stinker' episodes - it's unavoidable, really, considering how many episodes each season had. Yes, 'Lexana' was indeed vomit-inducing, but I knew it'd happen eventually (I mean, Lois got with Lex in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman at one point. It seems a given that the 'love interest' of the main hero will eventually get involved with the 'bad boy' character. They just have to throw every possible roadblock into the Clana relationship. What'd you think of the change in opening credits sequence for Season 5 vs. the opening credits for the first four seasons? When I first saw it, I thought it looked SO fashion shoot-y...but in the end I didn't mind it, as it was good to change things up.

Keep in mind I did take an 8 month break so probably as a whole I like the season but when I posted that it had a string of inconsistent episodes

First few episodes of season 6 have been pretty good. I like the Jimmy Olsen in this so far. Again, the Lex and Lana stuff is more and more cringe with each episode but I know it won't last that long.

Season 6 is very good. I am 8 episodes in This^ is not the response I remember hearing from the old IMDB board for the show in regards to that season. In the end, though, your opinion wins...since those boards don't exist anymore. I don't think I had as much of a problem with that season as some people seemed to (though maybe I did and I just don't remember? It was so long ago now). I *do* know that if you just watched episode 8, then the next one is one of the most universally-panned episodes of the show. There are some pretty good episodes in this season, however (the eleventh episode's a doozy).

I agree. Enjoy what you enjoy and screw everybody else thinks.

It was interesting to compare the differences in the sentiment of illegal immigration in America. Martha Kent along with that cop would practically be branded a Nazi if that were today.

Well, I can't say for sure what people's problems with the episode were, but I think it was the heavy-handedness of its 'message' and the guest-star they got to play the kid Clark from helping (who is Tyler Posey and actually got his own TV series - Teen Wolf, based on the Michael J. Fox movie of the same name but totally different). Also, the 'meteor freak of the week' was kind of lame - a farmer who burrows underground. Anyway, the good news is only one more episode to go before you get to the really good one of the season.

I am watching episode 11 right now 😀

I didn't watch all of but, but I watched a lot of episodes. I liked it. I've no idea how it's grown since I last saw it, but I thought it was charming and well-cast. It's really humanizing to Luthor. Lana was great. I thought they were all well-cast. Tom Welland has that perfect, angel-like farm boy face that just doesn't age.
Even now (or within the past few years) in his role in Lucifer, his face is ten years younger than the gray that's starting to show up in his hair.
Actually, I felt like Lois Lane, who was not in the show for the first few seasons/years, came dangerously close to being replaced by Lana. Turns out it's the other way around in the canon, but Superman and Lois lane go together like Homer and Marge Simpson, or Bonnie and Clyde, or Willie Nelson and weed. Lana was unknown to me as a character when I started watching the show. I enjoyed the chemistry between her and Clark to the point where Lois Lane had to show up to remind me she existed.
I have a soft spot for what could have between between Clark and Lana, even though Clark and Lois is sacrosanct. Clark and Lana getting together could make for an interesting What If. Maybe Clark and Lois will hook up in that reality after Lana is killed by the female Joker from Flashpoint: Paradox.
