I am having a hard time getting excited about season 4. Clark has no friends, no love interests, and no life really. What's going on in that season? I'm drawing blanks I think that's the one where they start introducing witches and stuff.

This is easily one of my top three adaptations of Superman. I also rewatched an episode not long ago and realized how much I miss Clark and Lex's bromance. Rosenbaum. The best Lex ever, period Yeah... It's kinda hard to accept anyone else in the role after you've seen perfection.

But I’m only on season 4 I'm curious, jay...how come you're so invested in Clark's sex life?

Also they teased sexual chemistry with Lois. As a viewer I can’t help but be invested because they revolved the show around it. The dude is a senior in high school and had multiple girls that were interested in him for years and time and time again he turns them all down. It’s just frustrating to see

Well, the only answer I can think of to explain this^ is what weirdraptor said... It's because Clark is saving himself for his marriage to Lex.

I'll never understand why Smallville pushed the Lana Lang stuff so much, considering she's not the canonical love interest of Clark Kent.

I think maybe the showrunners had a bit of a thing for Kristin Kreuk and that's why Lana Lang became so 'important' to the series and to Clark's character. Of course, this^ is just speculation/a theory. It could just be they wanted to do their own thing and decided to pick and choose what they chose to run with from the comics/what they decided to embellish.

It would have been fine to focus on the Lana Lang stuff if they didn't insist on introducing so many elements from the main Superman universe into this prequel. Like, once Lois shows up, Lana just becomes redundant.

I thought they made a number of questionable decisions with Lana's character as the series went on, but I never quite fully got on board with her hatedom.

I never hated Lana (or Kristin Kreuk, like some people seemed to). It was fun to joke about Clark's obsession with her and everything seemingly being about Lana (I saw it described as ' Lanaville' at one point), but in all seriousness she was never a character I particularly had a problem with. At times she could be frustrating...but that was true of basically every character in the show. I think SV eventually became more about them introducing every comic book character even vaguely to do with Superman than anything else (just like Gotham seemed to end up being about introducing every Batman villain they could think of).

Agreed. Ugh. Yeah, once they were even building up to Darkseid, I was like "So... What's Clark gonna be doing once he has the cape if all his enemies are already defeated?" I can see why he's retired when we meet him again in that CW crossover.

4 more episodes of season 4. I'd like to wrap up this season by the weekend and start on season 5 next week.

The one I watched last night was a stinker of an episode. Where the kid ages fast that they find in that field. Thumbs down on that one. 2 more to go of season 4

But as a whole it was pretty good I thought I remember that around Season 4-6 about is where a lot of people start having a rougher time of Smallville, including myself. But I never really reached a place where I felt it jumped the shark so badly I couldn't keep watching. Certain parts of the show, though, just get so freaking dire it can be a hard sit.

What's everyone's favourite episode/s of Smallville? Jayman Chalice_Of_Evil @weirdraptor Myself, favourite season was the one with Zod, so it stands to reason that one of my favourite eps is in said season. That being the finale I believe, wont say more for obvious reasons but that confrontation was awesome. Great quote, "Better to reign in Hell, than serve in Heaven."

All of them. He is just such an adorable, glorious asshole in those episodes, you just can't help but love him.

I haven't watched the show in quite a long while and therefore have forgotten a lot of it (even episodes that I enjoyed). So I'm going off of vague memories here, and it's likely I've forgotten some episodes I actually quite enjoyed (I may even be misremembering some episodes that I didn't think were that great as being among my 'favourites'). Also, I'll freely admit that some of the episodes I've listed below weren't that great or even good...but I enjoyed them nonetheless. Season 1'Pilot', 'Hourglass', 'Leech', 'Nicodemus', 'Stray', 'Crush', 'Tempest' Season 2'Vortex', 'Heat', 'Red', 'Ryan', 'Skinwalker', 'Rosetta', 'Exodus' Season 3'Exile', 'Phoenix', 'Perry', 'Shattered', 'Obsession', 'Truth', 'Memoria', 'Covenant' Season 4'Crusade', 'Gone', 'Run', 'Transference', 'Unsafe', 'Pariah', 'Commencement' Season 5'Arrival', 'Mortal', 'Hidden', 'Aqua', 'Thirst', 'Splinter', 'Solitude', 'Reckoning', 'Vengeance' Season 6'Zod', 'Sneeze', 'Arrow', 'Fallout', 'Justice', 'Crimson', 'Promise', 'Nemesis', 'Noir', 'Phantom' Season 7'Bizarro', 'Kara', 'Cure', 'Lara', 'Wrath', 'Blue', 'Gemini', 'Siren', 'Fracture', 'Traveler', 'Veritas', 'Descent', 'Apocalypse', 'Arctic' Season 8'Bloodline', 'Bride', 'Legion', 'Hex' I kind of forgot most episodes from Season 9, so there's probably a few I may have liked and haven't included here (honestly, I wasn't that fussed on seasons 8-10 as a whole)... Season 9'Absolute Justice', 'Warrior' Season 10'Supergirl', 'Ambush', 'Booster', 'Prophecy', 'Finale' Seasons 3, 5 & 7 were my favourites.
