If they made it I’d watch it. But first they should do a sequel to the last one. Why? It was made to be a standalone. And it's not even a Joker movie. It's a Taxi Driver knockoff they stuck the name of Joker onto. Because I think Cavil is a good fit, and given the right material he can really shine. Wait- which thread is this?

Let's not even kid ourselves about that. Back to topic, you should seriously watch Scorsese's Taxi Driver and The King of Comedy.

Good movies. Yes, Joker took a lot of inspiration from them. It's not a direct remake of either though. Arthur is a very different character than uh, Bumpkin? And.. Pickles? I forget their names.

I would rather have stayed home and rewatched either of those films than ever see "Joker" again. And that's exactly how I intend to do it.

I'm mostly just frustrated that WB isn't investing in films that capture the spirit of these characters they way they could.

Didnt you want him to be campy and silly?

Ok Hamill is fine but not everything can be translated from animation to live-action I'm not asking for it to be exactly like Hamill's. All I'm asking for is a faithful version of The Joker to be put on the big screen again. Hamill's Joker just happens to be a good example. That's all.

There's a new report saying that Joker 2 is in development. And it will begin production in 2023.

If you zoom in on that picture of Joaquin you can read part of the screenplay…
The scene has Arthur McGee in Arkham. He’s speaking with a doctor named Joe Kerr. This doctor is played by none other than Jack Nicholman! His face is de-aged with CGI goo. He turns to Arthur and says “You know, I’m something of a Joker myself.” What follows is a Joker filled rampage through the multiverse!
Can’t wait to see this movie!

All credit to AQUA KEN! who originally posted this (I'm just passing it along). Prior to hearing this rumour, I had no interest in this second film (unpopular opinion, but I didn't like the first movie AT ALL), but now I'm at least somewhat intrigued. I can definitely see Lady Gaga in the role, but I'd be interested to know how her interpretation of the character would differentiate itself from Margot Robbie's (my guess...she'll be a lot freakier).

The sequel is apparently going to be a musical.
I'm definitely interested now!
