I've seen both... quite a while ago. I liked them, but neither impressed me quite as much as I expected them to. However, this has happened to me before with other films and on later viewings, my older self seemed to enjoy them more than my younger self had done. So, anything's possible.

And while I wasn't entirely transfixed by them personally, I still recognize that they're highly regarded films.

Easily the best comic book film ever. In which case, perhaps they should leave well enough alone? Go out on a high? Oh... who am I kidding?

I usually have little use for auteur-drive Oscar-bait movies. They're almost never even half as good as everyone tells me, and I frankly find most of them to be boring or insufferably up their own ass.

You're talking to a man who sat through "Zardoz" once on a dare. The Oscars are welcome to try to out-pretense that movie.

I don't mind ZARDOZ... although the various parts do not unite into a satisfying whole. However, I absolutely adore the ending, set to the second movement of Beethoven's seventh symphony. For some reason, it's stayed with me since I first saw it as a child.

So, he started off with THE LORD OF THE RINGS and finished up with THE WIZARD OF OZ... He must've had access to really good drugs. I think EXCALIBUR was a much better effort. I'm just glad he was given the opportunity to make it after his EARLIER effort on ZARDOZ. Although to be fair, he made a number of good films over the years... POINT BLANK, HELL IN THE PACIFIC, DELIVERANCE and so forth.

It's not even a comic book movie. It's not even the Joker.

"Zardoz" just isn't the best example to introduce someone to his work. It was "Excalibur" for me.

Awesome news! Can't wait to see what they do with the character in future movies.
Send in the clowns!

Phoenix' portrayal was perfect as a one-off. No need to ruin it.

After discovering there was a female Joker character in the comics (not Harley Quinn, but a different character altogether), I started thinking about how I wouldn't mind seeing a movie version of her. I even imagined an actress (who I'm a fan of) in the role...and apparently others did too. Though I can just imagine how well that would go over with certain people.

I dont mind this in an elseworld story. Not sure if you know but Flashpoint has a female joker. So she could be featured in the upcoming Flash movie

It was made to be a standalone. And it's not even a Joker movie. It's a Taxi Driver knockoff they stuck the name of Joker onto.
