Apparently, he'd been battling colon cancer for 4 years, spanning his entire tenor in the MCU. Rest in Peace, Mr. Boseman. You will be missed.

This is quite shocking. I thought I'd misread for a second. Completely unexpected. I had no idea he was so sick.
I hadn't really seen him in much, but I thought he exuded a regal quality about him onscreen and was very good in his role as T'Challa/Black Panther.
Another promising actor who has passed away far too soon, as he had his whole career ahead of him. Very sad news.
R.I.P. Chadwick Boseman.

I thought it was a prank when I first read it and I Googled it to verify it. No. It's true. I'm gonna miss him.

I am just at a loss for words. Somebody who didn’t quite know how I’d react just sprung this on me from across the room and I’ve barely been able to speak. It’s so tragic. The man was just at the start of an amazing career, he’s an incredible person, and I just feel horrible for all of those close to him.

This just shocked the hell out of me. I can't believe this. This is horribly sad and tragic. I feel sick about it.

People lets keep any speculation about Black Panther's future to ourselves for a the time being. I personally dont care right now. We can discuss at length at a later moment.

I'm glad fans are asking them not to recast, and it's unlikely Marvel would have, anyway. In the old days, the studio handling this would have shrugged their shoulders and just slapped another actor in the role and called it a day. It's how 'Alias Smith and Jones' handled the suicide of Hannibal Heyes. I can't even imagine how ghoulish that must have felt for Heyes's costars.

This is just so, so sad. I’ve been praying for him and his family ever since I heard the news, but… Just how sad.

I’d be happy to share respectfully if and when appropriate or for whoever would like to message me, but I do think it’s a convincing POV. I just didn’t want recasting buried as a taboo topic.

It's not taboo, just after some time (few days I guess). I get it. Although I already said my piece about that over on v2 lol

Dutch theater chain Pathe brought Black Panther back into theaters after Chadwick's passing. They would donate half the box office take to the cancer foundation. Today they announced they wull donate 17000 euro. Not bad for a rerun in covid times.

Today would have been his birthday. To honour him Disney has updated the Marvel Studios Logo in Black Panther on Disney+ with a Chadwick Boseman tribute much like the Stan Lee one in Captain Marvel.

A fitting tribute. Instead of a happy birthday for Chadwick, I will wish his family, friends, and all of those lives he has impacted the best, and hope that have or are working towards finding happiness after his loss.
