Last Crusade comes close to Ark. And personally I think its better. Certainly better than Temple of Doom and that DISASTER Crystal Skull. BUT, Raiders is STILL the best to me.

I don’t want to oversell it but it’s fucking great!
It’s been one of my favorite movies ever alongside Raiders for 35 years.

For me: 1. Raiders 2. Temple 3. Crusade 4. Kingdom In production/release order, too! That's my ranking too. 1-4 best to worst. However, none of them are bad.

BTW it has to be said,
Temple of Doom is an awesome movie. I love that it's just him on a random side quest in India that gets more and more creepy and dangerous. There are so many iconic scenes in that movie too that I still can't stop watching it once I start. Incredible film.

Temple is underrated in the fandom.
To me its 1. CRUSADE 2. RAIDERS 3. TEMPLE 99. SKULL It is indeed, and I’ve never been able to figure out why. Other than Capshaw’s screaming, what isn’t good about it? And for all the much-mentioned “darkness,” it’s basically a kids’ movie in all the best ways, complete with the gory stuff that kids like.

While I didn’t think KotCS was necessary, I like it, and while I at times disparage TLC I still really like much of it, especially the Ford-Connery rapport.

Its non stop action after they get into the temple. Ton of originality in the villains and mythology. Mine craft chase is very innovative. Fights feel more intense. And Indy is the most jacked physically hes ever been. And on top of that he saves an entire villagers kids who were enslaved almost single handledly which out ranks his other achievements. The other movies are very good but dont match the pure swashbuckling archaeological heroism that Indy displays in ToD. Chris Stuckmann has recently re-reviewed the 3 indys on his channel. He said out of all them, Temple is the one he would pick the most to watch again even though it isnt his fav.

Between Doom and Ark. It's my second favorite of the series and was for a while, my favorite installment. Honestly, even though I like Raiders more, I'd stand by and say that Last Crusade is the best written out of the whole series. Lots of credit should got to Jeffrey Boam for that (Lethal Weapon; Innerspace; Lost Boys).

Add me to the list of DOOM fans. I used to hate it but it really grew on me over the years. My list is the same as AQUA SALZ! 's list.

If Raiders and Crusade aren’t your top 2, you’re wrong ;-)
Feel free to place them in either order, they’re both perfection of classic cinema
Doom is highly under valued and goes 3rd for me, tons of classic scenes and it keeps moving with a sinister vibe and overall excitement factor that really belongs with the rest of the original trilogy, but I’d listen to an argument for Dial if you found the nostalgia and conclusion too good to pass. It’s an easy 4th for me though. I do like it as a throw back and am elated I got one more run.
Skull just goes 5th. Don’t see any debate. I tried putting it on a couple months ago and it’s not a disaster but it feels compulsory.

I feel like Doom is one of those “expected cultural norm” answers. You’re supposed to say it’s “the worst” and so many people do without even thinking about it. You’re supposed to say Sean Connery is the best bond even though real fans know it’s Dalton ;-)
Doom is fantastic. It’s great adventure, it’s steeped in vibes, it’s got the best pure hero story of the lot, and owns so many classic scenes of the series.
This cliche that Doom is somehow a lesser movie is kind of ridiculous IMO. It’s a prime adventure film

But now that we have some old Indy flicks that maybe don’t live up to that original trilogy…Doom can finally gain some peace.

I always saw the bad rap as trying to pic out which playboy centerfold was the ugly one. I mean how picky are we? Lol
