Just wondering what movies (or shows, or anything), if any, you’ve completely changed your mind on over the years.
It’s happened many times for me: one example that springs to mind is Horror of Dracula (1958), which I loved the first time I caught it on TV at night as a kid and which I now find almost excruciatingly boring (Peter Cushing’s performance notwithstanding). Similarly, I loved Houdini (1953) as a kid and now find it pretty dull and ugly-looking. More recently, my opinions on a couple of the MCU movies did a 180 when I rewatched them.
It doesn’t have to go in the negative direction, though; those examples just came to mind for me. How about you?

Dunkirk. When I first saw it in the cinema, I was underwhelmed. But then on 2nd and 3rd viewing at home, I've changed my mind completely and now regard it as one of Nolans top tier movies.

Deadpool
Liked it a lot the first time. Upon review it became boring and childish. I actually hate these movies now.

I think there are some but I cant remember them atm but on a kind of related note, when I did view some films/episodes again I found some women not to be as attractive anymore. Has that happened to anyone?

The first time I watched "Twelve Chairs," a Mel Brooks flick, I enjoyed it. A rewatch not long ago was a much harder sit. Easily his weakest film.

I used to think the MCU was merely good. Now I think it's a masterpiece.

Haven’t seen The Twelve Chairs, but that tends to happen to me with Brooks movies in general. Young Frankenstein is the only one that really holds up for me, because in addition to being a good spoof it’s also just a good movie.

I think even "Dracula: Dead and Loving It" holds up in my opinion. It's only "Twelve Chairs" that's dulled with time for me.

What I respect most is their ability to plant clues in early movies, to have them come into play later in the series. Everything makes sense, with few to no glaring plot holes. Sure they have a bit too many attempts at humor when it isn't necessary, but that's overshadowed by other story elements done right. Meanwhile, other shows/movies can't remember what's going on from one scene to the next.

Most examples I can think of are those that faded but many have gotten better and it’s always the ones with more and more detail worth considering. Films you enjoy all over again from a new perspective. TGTB&TU only gets better to me, The Godfather only gets better, every MCU film has gotten better to me. I can’t really think of one that was dramatically different though outside of films I saw as a young kid.

I think there are some but I cant remember them atm but on a kind of related note, when I did view some films/episodes again I found some women not to be as attractive anymore. Has that happened to anyone? I can only think of two instances where this^ has happened to me. The first was with a two-parter episode of MacGyver. It was in the episode titled 'Good Knight MacGyver: Part 2'. I remembered that when I was quite young and originally watched the episode as it first aired on TV here, there was a maiden MacGyver rescued who I thought was pretty at the time. I rewatched the episode via repeats on TV a few years ago and she didn't quite live up to my memory of her from when I was young. The second instance was, coincidentally enough, in another show that starred Richard Dean Anderson. This time it was Stargate SG-1. When the episode titled 'Hathor' originally aired on TV here in the 90's, I thought Hathor was pretty hot. Recently the show has been repeated on TV and I've been watching it, but we only get one episode each week on a Saturday night. I got sick of waiting to see Hathor again and looked up images of her online. Suffice to say my memories had once again not lived up to reality. While she's certainly not 'bad', I found she was 'hotter' during her first scene in the episode than she was in the rest of it. I'll be interested to see how I find her looks-wise when she returns (as I know she's in two more episodes at some point). Yes, this is very 'shallow' of me...but then, that's what this thread is for, isn't it? I, like destiny, am a fickle bitch.
