You don’t think you’ll have a vaccine by July? Get on the ball, Dutchman! Even us Americans are getting shots now and we absolutely sucked at COVID response. I mean SUCKED. Remember us? The country that thought drinking bleach cured COVID? GIVE GRANDMATSTER THE ASTRA ZENENCA!!!!!!!! 💉💉💉💉💉💉

Let's be honest here...there's going to be American's who won't get the vaccine. True. I have two uncles who won’t get it. One is a super far right conspiracy guy and the other is a super far left conspiracy guy. They’re actually my two favorite uncles! But their politics are completely nuts.

In July we all should be vaccinated depending on the deliveries coming through from the several companies. But thats far from certain. Besides that its far from certain how my wife can see at that moment. So I will make a decision when the time comes.

I don’t like the delay, but I’m convinced it’s the last one now. And with D+ awesomeness out, 2 more months will hopefully only sting a little In the meantime I would suggest you just watch Inhumans a few times and that should hold you over for a couple of months and soften the blow

Three more months and Nat will get her day in the sun.

Between this film and Peter and Wendy film, I wonder if Mila daughter will become a breakout star?

The wait has just been far too long. I'm glad Disney is using the hybrid release model. I think the demand for a theatrical Marvel release has been so pent up; this film will do huge business.

What would be your ballpark sir? Theatrically, I would guess up to $200 M WW by the end of its run. That's apart from premium access revenue on Disney+. I'm guessing, conservatively, that 10% of the Disney+ subscriber base will opt-in — that's 10 M existing subscribers worldwide for an additional $200,000,000 in VOD revenue. This assumes the film is not a complete turkey.

What if it does? Lol It's tough to tell what they have on their hands based on the promotional material. It certainly doesn't look like they phoned it in. If it is a turkey, Marvel Studios will likely get some cover from the post-pandemic box office narrative that says that theaters are only now starting to come back. The key to success for this movie will be how well they address two things. What is Natasha guilty of? What is the red on her ledger? It's going to have to be a gut punch. And... How does she gain redemption? What or who does she give up? If those two emotional beats payoff, the stunts can suck, the accents can be total ass, the villains can be weak, and Marvel will still have a decent film on their hands.

For sure I’m actually more thinking big picture. They have yet to lay an egg, and they’ll have 25+ projects under their belt now. How long can they really go without bombing, because their machine is making it look damn near impossible at this point. And when they finally do, what’s that like?

What would be your ballpark sir? It depends on whether or not they are able to work out a deal with Cinemark. They failed to come to an agreement on Raya and the Last Dragon and that's why it suffered at the box office.

How long can they really go without bombing, because their machine is making it look damn near impossible at this point. And when they finally do, what’s that like? Someone will make a bad Marvel movie at some point. Film X will likely result from general overconfidence in the brand (more than anything else). Or several negative factors may converge at the same time to contribute to an objectively bad Marvel film. Detractors have been waiting so long for this inferior film to come along that they're beginning to lose hope. I almost feel bad for them. They're forced to shade the MCU back catalog with the same sweeping generalizations of low comedy, broad appeal, and lack of creative risk-taking over and over again. In any event, it's more helpful to examine what makes Marvel Studios successful instead of trying to anticipate when it will all collapse. When reading interviews with their executives and participating talent, a few common themes keep popping up. 1. Marvel Studios appears to have created a positive and relaxed working environment. They've managed to balance the pressures of producing costly and complex major motion pictures under strict deadlines with encouraging creative experimentation (if not out-and-out risk-taking). Very few actors or executives seem to have bad experiences working on their projects - if they do, they're less likely to be remain in the fold. I'm sure the Ray Fisher of Marvel Studios is somewhere in the wings packaging their complaints into a hot-topics style narrative, but until that day... 2. Marvel Studios appears to have baked the ideas of inclusivity and diversity into their corporate culture organically rather than shoehorning these ideas in after the fact. If you believe in corporate culture at all, it is well known that it's something you have to get right from the start; else, risk spending all of your time trying to fix it. 3. The talent, craftsman, and executives who work with/for Marvel Studios appear to like what they're doing. Of course, that's relatively easy when you're part of the winningest team, but I don't think it should be taken for granted. Hiring people who have an affinity for the content and genuinely enjoy what they do can be a boon to any human endeavor. 4. Marvel Studios appears to have created a semi-competitive environment in which they attract top talent, and no one of them wants to be the first/next to submit shoddy work. I think this aspect of the culture began to take shape shortly after the Inhumans fiasco. Scott Buck has still not managed to recover his career from the double blow of that and Iron Fist (and I think that's been a cautionary tale for all that follow). If any one of these factors begins to deteriorate, the others could fall in short order, and you will get your very first genuinely horrible Marvel Movie.
