I don't think I've ever heard of a director doing that before… I'd be curious to know why if he ever cares to share. I never thought the concept was strong enough to end a highly lauded career—"The Critic" felt like going out with a whimper. …and so close to production.

Yeah I share the same sentiment, it's like Movie Critic...k...zzz.... Also getting sick of the Hollywood inner circle thing and especially the nostalgia these days in entertainment. What does it say? That we dont know who we are as a people anymore and maybe thats true. These Hollywood people are meant to be progressives/liberals, then give us more fresh takes and ideas, just no overt political messages. Tino should stop worrying about his legacy and, if he wants to stop to do other things fine but why the announcement? You're only putting pressure on yourself for the supposed swan song flick
