Won't be the same without Richard Dawson.

I wonder if it will be adapted to be more like the novel. Spoiler, the novel has a much more serious tone on it and the Hunters aren't in fun wrestling gimmicks. You won't hear me say this often but I'd welcome a remake closer to the 80s film version rather than the novel honestly. I loved the over the top nature of the Arnie film. Now if they ever remake The Long Walk...that I want done serious.

Every couple I hear news about some studio working on it or something and then I never hear anything more.

I was hoping there wasn't a substandard adaptation of the novella floating around out there under an entirely irrelevant name—like "Power Walk" or something equally nonsensical. It's like Elroy's White Jazz; it's tough to envision a faithful adaptation of either.

Yea I don’t really know that it’s a good story to even try to adapt to film….but I’d be curious to see someone give it a go.

I wasn't aware of a version with Rob Lowe, so I can't comment on that film, but candidly speaking, I've never seen anything very good with him. I'll assume that version was a wash.

It was made for tv in the late 90s I think. It has a more book accurate portrayal of Kurt Barlow. He’s more of a Dracula and less of a Nosferatu in the novel. But it didn’t scare like the 79 version.

The leather blazer he sports in the poster is the height of douchebaggery. Is it worth giving this version a go?

Take that as you will. Having said that I do really enjoy Rob Lowe in Parks and Rec but that's about all i can think of that I really enjoy Lowe in a role. Hes kinda douchey there too but it works for the overall vibe of the show.

Will this cross over with the MCU by chance?
