Hopefully, it will be as good as "Prey".

I find even the bad Predator movies entertaining so….good.
Although I do hope it at least matches the Prey levels of quality.

The genesis of the predator was different from alien. In the latter case I believe a painting of Giger is what inspired Dan O'Bannon to make a film while the predator design came late in production after the original concept was abandoned. I just find that the predator can't seem to work beyond the original film --- in all the sequels I have seen he comes across as a Wile E Coyote wannabe. The best idea was the Robert Rodriguez concept of the predators kidnapping aliens who had defeated a predator and dropping them on a planet for arena combat. A sequel opportunity for Arnie.
Predators the movie was a feeble version of that. The predators weren't as big as the one from the original and they made them weaker---Adrian Brody was able to punch one while Arnie couldn't.
Also the original idea of the sequel made the predators sore loser again-rather than noble aliens-something that was ridiculous in Predator 2 (as well as the Dark Horse comic-where the predators allow an earthing to join them in a hunt of aliens). I didn't like Alien vs Predator but at least it didn't get so ridiculous as the comic did. The predators are bigger assholes than the aliens! They are the ones going around spreading the alien on planets and yet the comic made them out to be protagonists of a sort. Would have been better to have the predators encounter aliens for the first time rather than suggesting they had known them for eons.
