Byron Allen is offering $30 billion to buy Paramount. Whoever ends up owning the company, I hope it at least survives as an actual studio and keeps it's beautiful and historic lot in Hollywood.

If this doesn't pan out, he can always buy WBD instead. Who doesn't like a challenge?

If he buys it--nothing will change in production philosophy. Sounds like he is a front man for other people. Maybe a stock manipulation scheme. I recall he produced or distributed a Ted Kennedy movie a while back--now there's a film no one wanted or cared about.
Allen was off the radar for decades--I remember him in the 80s--and he was a talk show host or something? Someone is feeding him the money for this. A male Oprah clone.

Every billionaire is a front for other people. Allen is making a play for a seat at the grown-ups table of business. Spoiler alert, he won't make it in - even with an offer to effectivley pay double what the Paramount dumster fire is worth.

He was one of the hosts of "Real People" 1979-1983. It was an early example of what would someday be called reality TV.

It was an early example of what would someday be called realty TV. Ah, that subgenre of reality tv where real estate agents compete with each other?

The CEO is to resign over behind-the-scenes problems.
