Stumbled across a tiktok earlier of someone briefly (its tiktok) taking on the question of JL versus X-Men and they said that it would only take 2 X-Men to defeat the entire JL, Xavier and Wolverine. Because the JL doesn't have any telepaths to counter Xavier.
I sighed in disgust and disbelief at this unbelievable slander against the JL. I'm a huge fan...but it would at least take more than those two to take down the likes of Elongated Man and Ambush Bug.

It could be that I'm stoned and listening to Dark Side of the Moon, but I'm not sure who or what combination of X-Men can take down Superman. Would it make a difference if he gave the X-Men a head start with Cyclops' eyebeams in his face and Wolverine slashing his throat in his sleep? The X-Men I've always considered a team. Superman's a one-man justice league. Unless there's kryptonite in the mix what can they really do him? Although it would be interesting if Xavier's telepathy can really turn the tide.
I suppose it also depends on what's meant by defeated. Beaten into unconsciousness? Death? In The Dark Knight Returns Part II, Batman beat Superman by knocking him over and saying he wanted him to know who beat him. Fair. But then a moment later Superman was at his funeral. Not bad for a guy who got defeated by the corpse.
The part of my brain that understands simple things is not sure how they get past Superman. Xavier as the key is an interesting premise, but then what do you actually do with it? Subdue, neutralize and subdue, but what's the finishing blow? If Xavier or Jean Gray keeps Superman under lock and key with their powers then they're as trapped in battle as he is. I think it's a stalemate.

Forget about Superman for one second and worry about the Martian Manhunter. Who if I’m not mistaken is actually a telepath. *internet search* Ah yes he is. Whattya know, that TikTok user was incorrect in their assessment…

Whattya know, that TikTok user was incorrect in their assessment… I’m a big X-men fan. They’ve got some heavy hitters…Xavier, Wolverine, Magneto, Jean…but the Justice League is heavy hitter central. The main team is just ridiculous. Superman’s a big problem but MM, WW, and Batman are right behind him…and Flash and Green Lantern can be game changers. Almost forgot about Aquaman, who despite years of being made fun of is actually strong af. That’s just the main couple…if we go down the line to the likes of Firestorm or Zatanna…we’ll I’m gonna feel bad for Gambit and Kitty Pryde.

One of the things I like about Marvel in general is that, usually, the characters have limitations. Many of the main DC characters are just ridiculously over-powered.

For the X-Men specifically I like them because their powers usually have some sort of relationship to their character. At least it's my interpretation/imagination. Rogue is this lovely, charming woman bursting at the seams with affection but can't touch anybody. Wolverine heals instantaneously but he's always in pain. I think their vulnerabilities are sewn into their characters. I've always thought they worked best as a team because they need each other. Any one of them can be a ringer on a team, but their teamwork is what makes them special. Part of me wants to root for the X-Men over the Justice League. I'd prefer they win, but I just don't see it.

Telepath will only get you so far and besides Im pretty sure Xavier is a far stronger one and can also control people's minds

The X-Men would win. The most practical route to victory would be to have Xavier take control of Superman and use him to exterminate the rest of the League. J'onn is a formidable telepath; he can read minds, but I don't believe he can control them as Charles can. The alien physiology of Kal-El's brain would not pose a problem for him (for those who would cite it).
