So this was pretty cool
I occasionally am contracted to work out at Kennedy Space Center to certify some lab equipment and clean rooms, and the past two days I was in an interesting place. It was the hanger where they complete the final assembly for specialized satellites and other planetary research vehicles. There were several moments where I took a moment to contemplate that the Mars Rovers, Cassini, New Horizons, Stardust, and more had been completed and stood in the very spot I was standing. Pretty surreal stuff. What I would call standing at the literal edge of human accomplishment.

When I was still a kid, in the early 1970s, visitors could enter into a corner of the VAB so long as no rockets were being assembled.

Just to clarify, this wasn’t the VAB, but I would love to get into that one as well some day With no Saturn V, it was girders and lights all the way up, but still impressive.
