Checking to make sure with you fine humans. Was it not made clear in Civil War that Captain America revealed he knew Bucky killed Iron Man's parents?
Checking for a discussion on the V1 forum. From the time I saw it in theaters it seemed clear as day to me that Iron Man asked Cap if he knew, Cap danced around it a bit and said he didn't know it was him, Stark pressed through and said don't BS me Rogers did you know, and with no other option but to say yes or no, Cap said yes.
Does that not translate to yes he knew? Cause right now I feel like the idea Cap didn't fess up to knowing Bucky killed the Starks means we watched a different movie.

Your understanding matches my understanding of the situation. I interpreted that exchange as Steve had strong enough suspicions - without actual confirmation - that James killed the Starks. That is to say, he wasn't exactly at a briefing where it was spelled out explicitly, but he had enough information to draw his own conclusions. When he admitted it to Tony, it was played as if he was finally fully acknowledging his suspicions and, consequently, his culpability in not sharing what he knew, or at least strongly suspected, with Tony. It was a layered admission that sort of doubled as an epiphany.

I never thought Cap actually knew Bucky definitely did it. I think he knew Bucky had done a lot of evil shit that he didn’t need to know the details of because he didn’t blame him, and this particular thing wasn’t the least bit surprising to him.

I'm starting to see it a little bit. I kinda like the idea of owning up to a conclusion he just drew, particularly with his jumping on the grenade personality.

yeah I think he’s defending Bucky here. He doesn’t know everything, but he does know Bucky wasn’t responsible. And he’s willing to defend that, especially in that circumstance. It’s not an admission that he know exactly what he’s done. But it’s entirely believable that he did that. It’s simply not relevant because regardless he’s still innocent. But equally valid is that stark isn’t concerned. That’s what makes it so good

I see what you're saying for sure.
