Sad. I saw it earlier but didn’t realize it was Tess right away.

This is very sad/shocking news. While I'd seen her in a few things before she was in 24, it was her role as Renee Walker in that show which made become a fan of hers and I always kept an eye out for her in other projects she appeared in - of which there were many that I happened to see. No matter whether the role was a one-time guest appearance or recurring, she managed to make the most of every one that I saw and always left an impression, I thought.
I wasn't even aware that she'd been battling cancer, as I knew she'd scored a role in Season 2 of Star Trek: Picard (which I haven't watched yet...but will do eventually and it'll certainly have more impact now watching her in one of her last TV roles) and it's a true testament to her that she kept acting right until the end.
This one hits me hard, having been a fan of her work and always watching anything I could with her in it. My deepest sympathies go out to her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.
R.I.P. Annie Wersching.
