For me, it's easily Guardians.
The Marvels will disappoint if not flat-out flop. Scrapping the proper "Captain Marvel" IP (aka changing it to "The Marvels") is a sign of weakness. In all fairness, there probably wasn't a way to win with this IP, given the hate the first movie garnered. I predict a meager box office relative to the first film, fan disappointment, and critical disdain. There will also be the jeering haters to contend with who will eat well for years if this film falls off a cliff.
Nia Decosta deserves better, but her name will likely be added to the list of female Marvel movie directors who didn't quite deliver - even though they've all done stellar work in my book.
Box Office Prediction: $650 M
Quantumania will be okay. I don't have any problems with Reed's work, but, LBH, most people think he is a vanilla director at best, if not altogether a stone-cold hack. Kang and allusions to Secret Wars could elevate Quantumania, but nothing is a slam dunk for this film.
Box Office Prediction: $775 M
All in, I think Marvel is likely to have a better year on streaming in 2023.
It's Guardians for the win in 2023.
Box Office Prediction: $850 M

Guardians 3 for sure. I’m curious about Antman, and those movies are usually tons of fun, and this one looks like it will be important (though I said that about DS2 and Wakanda) but my love for the Guardians kind of trumps all here.
I’m interested and kind of excited for all 3 tho tbh.

It's too bad there are only 3 next year.

Sadly, there's no MCU in the near future that I'm super-excited for. The third Ant-Man movie is the one I'll most likely make the effort to go see at the cinema. Can't really tell whether I'll bother with The Marvels or not until I see a trailer for it. I didn't watch the first two GotG films at the theatre...and I will be sticking to that pattern.

Easily GotG 3. I actually expect it to be my favorite of the trilogy. The Rocket origin story is sure to be intriguing.
I am not a fan of Reed, at all, so being excited for Ant Man 3 is perhaps misguided. But setting the entire story in the Quantum Realm is such a fun, bold idea. There’s also a new screenwriter so that may fix some of my issues with this series.
The Marvels- I was optimistic… until I read the leaks. I won’t allude to any spoilers here obviously, but suffice it to say I was quite disappointed with the ideas they went with.

To be fair, a trailer might change that. As is I don’t even know if we know what it’ll be about…outside a vague problem of them swapping places mysteriously. It’s still easily last on this list tho. The other two are 3rd films in their respective series.

Blade would’ve been my number one even without a trailer. I’m really excited to see that character in the MCU. But alas, it’s not to be next year.

Not sure what all's coming down the pike. I'm interested in the Guardians of the Galaxy world.
Also, having having watched 1 and 2 over the holidays during marathons, I forgot how much I like the Ant-Man movies. Next to making nobody I'd ever heard of into mainstream characters (the GOTG), one of the next biggest accomplishments of the MCU was making Paul Rudd into a superhero. I know it's acting the point of acting is to be someone you're not, but I would not have figured him or anybody in the Freaks and Geeks crew for superhero material. Good job, Paul Rudd.
If Ant-Man 3 isn't the one I'm most looking forward to, then it's a close second. Does anyone know if the snap effects realms like the Quantum realm? I never knew if Ant-Man was spared the snap because he was in there, or if he was just lucky enough to be in the half of the universe that survived. Maybe half the subatomic creatures down there got snapped too?

That's a good question. Hopefully Quantumania will answer it.
