Supposedly Sigourney Weaver insisted on; - 3 million dollars - No guns - And Ripley had to die.
- 20th Century Fox decided to kill Newt, Hicks and Bishop before the movie even starts.
- It takes place on an all male prison colony.
What do you think?

I wouldn't recommend you waste your time, unless you like watching boringly bad movies.

It’s watchable but nowhere near as great as 1 and 2. It loses a lot of points for killing all the leftovers from Aliens.

I actually enjoy pretty much all the Alien movies to some degree. There is a steep dropoff between Alien/Aliens and the rest of the pack tho.

The director's/assembly cut is somewhat more watchable. I actually enjoy pretty much all the Alien movies to some degree. There is a steep dropoff between Alien/Aliens and the rest of the pack tho. Since Prometheus, they've become vexingly convoluted. I wish they would smooth out the mythology and lay off some of the more high-minded posturings. The initial film was a sci-fi/horror home invasion story with some surprising twists. Cameron came along, added excellent world-building elements, and simply multiplied the danger. I don't know why Scott thinks this franchise needs to be about the origins of man. I think he wants to make another movie that is seen as indisputably better than Aliens. I complain now, but I know I'll be there for the next round of insecure, flute-playing, philosophizing, genocidal, android antics.
