Great film. Very entertaining.
But one scene I never bought the first time viewing. Or any time since. Was the little girl thinking the best thing to do when having a massive Tyrannosaurus Rex trudging around your car is to go dig in the back, find a flashlight, and shine it on the monster.
I don't believe any child, pre-teen or teenager would ever act that way.
Just a stupid contrivance.
That little girl's character was written like a moron. Except for when she hacks into the park's security system, they had her being stupid the whole film. And the flashlight scene was the worst.
What do you think?

Awesome movie. As for the girl, I wonder if she was meant to be planned as the younger sibling like as she was in the book. And she is much more annoying in the book.

Agreed. Even knowing absolutely nothing about dinosaurs I feel like a natural instinct would be to stay out of view as much as possible. But so can live with it because it’s such a great film.

More annoying and a lot younger, to be fair. She acts in the book in a very expected childlike way as someone who doesn’t fully understand the dire life and death situation they’re in and thinks whining or throwing a tantrum is the best reaction. Very annoying, but realistic.
