The box office for every unreleased, Pre-Gunn DCEU film just fell by 40%. I wonder if they'll just delete all the end credits scenes. I'll bet they'll leave them in so we can continue to believe the Snyderverse will continue - despite all the evidence to the contrary. This universe was built on lies; why stop now? Even now, people refuse to believe it.

I’m really curious to see if Gunn has vision beyond his own style of film. His Guardians/Suicide Squad style works great for those characters…but that doesn’t work for Superman or The Question or Martian Manhunter.

Gunn is going to write material that feels true to the Gunn aesthetic - rock music, ribald humor and revolting body horror. I wouldn't expect anything radically different. Superman will dance. So much damage has been done… It's incredible.

If you're expecting something closer to Nolan or Donner or anything not Gunn - I wouldn't. It's going to be interesting to see Gunn bring his aesthetic to DC characters. It's like Marvel has jokes - now DC will have body horror. I can't wait.

Gunn wrote the Superman movie but I doubt he will write everything. Feige doesnt write Marvel movies.. And in all likelihood, Gunn won't have the time to be the main writer of the film. His script will likely be the framework another writer they hire later will build off of for the final version.

Gunn shouldn't have even written the Superman film. Clearly, he started writing it before he got this new position, but he should be focused on being an executive and… uh… executing people. Let's embrace some silver or golden-age Superman stories. As dated as they are, some of those stories are a lot of fun. Let Brainiac shrink something, get Mister Mxyzptlk on the phone, or bring back multi-colored kryptonite. I'm shocked that he finds time to write, plan, and constantly needle the press. He is walking, talking, chewing gum, and dribbling a flaming basketball simultaneously. Whether you are a lowly YouTube rumor monger or a big to-do at one of the trades, James Gunn will out you for getting it wrong - in a gentlemanly way. "I love you, dude/dudette, but please stop lying." A not insignificant part of what has hurt DC this past decade is the constant spread of misinformation. Gunn, breaking his own stories, debunking rumors, and reporting on his progress directly to fans is very good for us - and very bad for jabronis and their little ponies. Like a freshly minted High School sophomore, I love to see the stunned and hurt look on their faces as they realize they've been caught out and their breezy lifestyle of spouting lies is at an end. Let's raise a glass to sadism. Hee hee hee... He's likely to ruin his career doing this, but it's still highly entertaining. Whatever you do, Jim, get that bag first. As for Superman - is it truth, justice, and the American… uh sorry… I mean… a better tomorrow? Let's do this 1984 style… Today… Sarcasm is Truth Cancel Culture is Justice and infighting is the American way How can we expect the world to believe in an all-powerful and all-benevolent protector if we can't? It doesn't work even as a fantasy anymore. The only Superman trope people seem to respond to is evil, scowling Superman. And to that, I say, "Don't laser me, bro!" Homelander, Hyperion, Omni-Man, you name it; they want to see someone who will rip people apart and make no apologies - you must never send flowers. Psychotics, sadists, and future regime leaders - pretenders - the lot of them. Jim, I'm begging you, bring back the original.

Oh, it is so satisfying after years of them being smug little bastards every step of the way. Now, they've finally lost for good, and all they have is a crippled online release of Snyder's Justice Losers.

How many times have we heard that Snyder's dark vision of super heroics was on life-support only to find it resurrected in some horrifying necrotic state. I'm tired of the Holy Trinity, and really like to see an exploration of some of the more obscure DC characters. My friends, finally, it's morning in the DCU.

At this point, the brand to damaged to go back to Snyder's vision, and Snyder has left altogether, so the man isn't even there to see it through, anymore. There is no more reason to bring it back and everyone at WB knows it and Zaslav is likely the first CEO Of the company to know that online outcry is always a minority.

With the stock trading at below ten dollars a share, an all time low for the year, they really need to do something dramatically different. In January it was trading at above $30 per share. They're going to teach this one in every major business school in America. What not to do with your key brand: 101.

I know I keep saying this, but it really, really warrants repeating for how important 2013 was. They made a Superman movie in 2013 which failed to garner $1 billion after excitement for superhero flicks was at an all-time high after the bust-out success of The Avengers. How they somehow didn't take that as a warning is anyone's guess.

How they somehow didn't take that as a warning is anyone's guess. 56% critic score 48% from top critics 75% audience score (with over 250,000 votes) $670 M worldwide Thor the Dark World - same year - to this day still considered to be the worst movie in the MCU franchise - earned $644 M. Iron Man 3 - also same year - $1.2 B. Tony got the bag and Clark got bagged. Budgets Iron Man 3 $200 M Thor 2 $170 M MoS $225 M If not for the (easily gamable) audience score MoS would have emerged as a total embarrassment. WB interpreted the failure of Man of Steel as "fans not wanting to see their heroes deconstructed. So let's Marvelize them. Huzzah!" James Gunn has the honors task of doing nothing short of making us all believe - once again - that a man can fly. Adjusted for inflation Superman The Movie earned $612 M in 1978.

Yeah, not even a measly, but full, $700 million. For the world's most recognizable superhero IN 2013. And then a Captain America sequel and the debut of Guardians of the Galaxy both managed to make that look like chump change in 2014.

So...dunno if you saw the conversation after this post but the initial poster (woman in the photo) asked people not to share or save the photo online because she didn't feel comfortable with a picture of herself being out there in the public. Someone should tell her what twitter is.
