I'm probably one of the (seemingly) few who wasn't into Mad Max: Fury Road, but if this prequel is going to star Jodie Comer as the younger version of Charlize Theron's character...that might just be enough to get my interest, as she is absolutely killing it (*groan*) in Killing Eve.
I first saw her in a TV mini-series (Thirteen) back in 2016 and she immediately grabbed by attention in that. It's awesome to see her gaining reocgnition thanks to her part in Killing Eve - she deserves all of the awards.

Thanks for that info about the person who Villanelle's character was inspired by. I always noticed the mention of the Villanelle novels come up on the screen after the main cast was listed and have considered seeking those books out. I didn't know Jodie Comer was going to be in an upcoming comedy movie with Ryan Reynolds (she's certainly capable of playing comedy, especially dark comedy as evidenced by her portrayal of Villanelle in Killing Eve). I did immediately notice her in Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker, though. I would've been interested in seeing more of Jodie Comer character, who (I imagine) was fairly different to her role as Villanelle. It's nice to meet another fan of the show and someone else who appreciates Jodie Comer as an actress. I'm so glad to see she's got this role that's getting her name out there/known and that's she's got other projects lined up too. I'm hoping she gets some really decent roles in good films (and doesn't suffer the same fate as others who've had really good TV roles, but then struggled to appear in 'hit' movies). She deserves to make it 'big'.

I loved Fury Road, and I loved Furiosa, but I just don't care about this. I want a Mad Max sequel, that's what.

Hopefully Miller gets to see it through.

Anya Taylor-Joy said that filming is pretty much finished.

Hemsworth on his villainous role:
"He's a very complicated, somewhat evil individual. ... Yeah, you don't believe you're evil though. I'm saying that from the outset, I found ways to defend his actions and empathize and understand him as I had to. That was my job. But yeah, there's a light and a darkness to him that I haven't played with before."

Anya Taylor-Joy talks about the movie: “I think I need to sit down and attempt to try and digest what’s happened over the last seven months. But I’m incredibly, incredibly proud of it, and so proud of all of the people I got to work with, and just the amount of love and effort and work that went into it, I’m excited to see it. It’s the dirtiest and the bloodiest I have ever been, which is saying something, genuinely saying something. Any time I get to be dirty or bloody and not perfectly prim and pretty, I’m just having a ball, that’s where I feel most comfortable. So yeah, ‘Furiosa’ was definitely right up my street.” www.darkhorizons.com/anya-taylor-joy-loved-filming-furiosa/

I loved Fury Road, and I loved Furiosa, but I just don't care about this. I want a Mad Max sequel, that's what. Same here. Although I agree with the above that Jodie Comer's destined for big things, I'd rather a franchise carry the universe forward. Prequels sometimes can feel like a chore. There's been so many lately. I prefer the story moving forward, especially in a franchise. There's something about the next installment in a multi-installment series that takes a lot of responsibility. A prequel's already happened but a sequel can be anything. Like I liked Solo a lot but was sure he'd live at the end.

That looks awesome. I'm so in.

This isn’t a movie I needed…but I’m fairly sure I’ll enjoy it. I hope it surprises me and adds more to the lore, the way Fury Road did.

So how exactly did Fury Road and now this avoid the "SJW PROPAGANDA!" stuff other films with competent women kept getting hit with?

So how exactly did Fury Road and now this avoid the "SJW PROPAGANDA!" stuff other films with competent women kept getting hit with? It didn't. Fury Road was bombarded with "feminist propaganda" Ironically Fury Road is one of the best feminist movies out there, but there are men out there who had their fragile ego's hurt because a woman dared to have more to do in a Mad Max film.

Yep. I remember people complaining about how it featured Furiosa too heavily and wasn't really a Max story. Which is true to a large extent...but that's also not totally uncommon for a Mad Max film. Outside the original the plot is usually pretty thin on why Max is doing what he's doing and much heavier on some group vs some other group with Max stuck in the middle.
