Not particularly. It blew my mind a little for being an improvement over the original, but it still embodies too many things I didn't like about the DCEU up until that point. Even the things that went well reminded me of those flaws. I thought the first Justice League movie was a fitting burial to that universe. Not too flashy, not too ambitious. The Snyder Cut was a big improvement but still not something I'd take to the bank.
I am however a super believer in if you like it and it makes you happy, then it can't be that bad.
From a general audience opinion, I'd say it was probably worth it because it felt less like an unattended funeral. It remains very strange there could be a remake like that. Calling it a cut is generous. It was like a whole new movie.
Business POV, it's hard to say. It just showed up on my HBO on demand one day. I can't even guess if it'd done well if it were released in theaters.
It's good for Snyder I'm sure. It let him make the movie he wanted, and it let him save face.
Personally the only DCEU films I like are Wonder Woman, Birds of Prey, Suicide Squad and Shazam. The big hitters missed the target. Man of Steel is good if you're into the aesthetic, which I was not. Ben Affleck did not work for me as Batman, and deep down he knows it. Gal Gadot was exquisitely cast as Wonder Woman, though I still can't tell if she can act. Ezra Miller's not a good Flash. He was better playing roles where he's troubled; clearly a nod to his real life, but I don't find he has any comedic timing at all. Jason Momoa I don't have a negative thing to say about, except that he reminds me of the DCEU. I'll say this for the Snyder Cut. It gave Cyborg something to do. That was a big change from the first one.
Only the sleeper hits from the DCEU work for me, and I keep forgetting to call them DCEU because I associate those letters with MOS, BvS, The Suicide Squad (which I didn't hate, but the second one smokes it, IMO) and Justice League.
It was worth a try.

Not remotely. They should have just scrapped the whole thing the instant they knew Batman v Superman sucked.

For me it was worth it. But it's not worth it for the constant bullshit from the Snydercult.

From a business pov or general audience opinion? It definitely wasn't worth it from a business standpoint. WB was essentially duped by a radicalized fandom into spending an additional $100 M on a movie that had already failed in theaters years earlier. Creatively, the Snyder cut doesn't add up to more than a weird anomaly amongst comic book movies for me. At four hours, it's overly indulgent and demands your time and attention without being proportionately satisfying. It's too long for a film and too short for a series. That said, I admit that I have never seen The Snyder Cut in its entirety. I think the fans needed closure, and maybe you can't put a price tag on that. It served its purpose as long as the fans were happy with it. But consider this, the Snyder Cut costs more to produce than the unreleased Batgirl, Birds of Prey, and Joker. Would it have been better to make another mid-range prestige DCEU film with that money, or was the Snyder Cut the best use of those resources?

I mean…I enjoyed it. The Snyder Cut version is the better version for me. Whether that was a good move by the studio or financially worth it to them, I don’t really know.
If this was the directors vision the whole time then I think he and the studio weren’t in the same page. Which I do think was a trend for the DCEU. The studio never felt like they were on the same page as their projects.

They're still pushing for the restoration of the Snyderverse, which is hilarious when you consider what a cheapskate Zaslav is.

they made it as a draw for HBOmax so the bottom line is, only their accountants know for sure whether or not that worked out for them on a personal level, idgaf, if they spent 100m just to please me, im totally fine with that

I'm a sucker for it all being worth it if it means something to at least one person, like the Malibu Stacy doll in The Simpsons. I feel the same way in your place. I'm not a shareholder. I'm not going to get fired if their movie breaks the bank. 100m is a small price to please me too. I don't care if they could have churned 5 movies for the same price with smaller budgets and lesser known actors. I want the good stuff.

It was worth a try. I liked Batfleck. What do you mean even Ben knows it? As for Ezra's Flash-yeah he's the Spider-Man of the group. It just doesnt work. Especially if you were exposed to Grant Gustin's Flash on the CW first

Great point. For example a Green Arrow movie

Especially if you were exposed to Grant Gustin's Flash on the CW first Of all his roles, for some reason, Batman stood out to me as a role that a bunch of his characters from the Kevin Smith movies would tease Ben Affleck for playing, in a meta sort of way. I think it's also because of how serious and gritty he does it. Playing Batman seems like a dream come true for a character like Holden in Chasing Amy, but Affleck played it in a way I don't think Holden would have. Maybe I've just known Ben Affleck for too long. I'm teasing him too.
Ezra Miller can be kinda bone-chilling. He did so well in We Need to Talk about Kevin, which seems on the nose now because lately it seems like We Need to Talk about Ezra. We Need to Talk about Kevin isn't an easy movie to watch; he especially makes sure of it. It's good though. That's the acting I haven't seen Ezra Miller recapture since. I didn't think he fit particularly well in the Fantastic Beasts movie either.
I've seen ads for CW's the Flash. That Flash looks like he's got it going on, but I haven't seen the show. He (Grant Justin's his name?) looks the part to me.

Fair enough. With Ezra he was good in Perks of Being a Wallflower. I havent seen much of him apart from the two movies though

Definitely. It was a massive improvement over the theatrical cut.
Any directors cut that’s leagues better than the theatrical version is worth it.
