Is there a brand that you prefer overall, not just talking about the movie universe?
Cant say I do. I like both

I have actually liked movies from MCU, DC AND Sony.
My Top 10 superhero films contain several from each.
But the DC movies I've liked are from quite a while ago. Can't say anything they've done since 2017 has been anything I was fond of.

And not exactly in a rush to do so either (will probably wait until it's on TV here, as I don't wish to spend any money on anything that guy's made since I'm not really a fan of his).

Not really. It's a coin-toss, and the coin belongs to Two-Face. I like them both.
I also only go by the movies and shows, and even then just a portion of them. Still I'll watch Thor one night and Goodfellas the next. It's all escapism to me. Superheroes just happen to fit a certain fancy because the fantasy isn't just having powers, but using them for good. Superman could probably punch a moon out of orbit but still help his mama with dinner. Having that power and being good; that's the fantasy.
On that note, here's a take on 'what if Superman punched you?". An oldie but a goodie:

Marvel. They have so many more great characters. And so many more good movies.
But… DC has Batman, so it’s a close call. Batman > every other comic book character. There’s also three separate Batman movie franchises (Burton, Nolan, Reeves) that I like more than most Marvel adaptations.

No. I’ve been fans of characters from both companies for as long as I’ve known about superhero’s.

A Marvel vs DC film would be wild.

Is there a brand that you prefer overall, not just talking about the movie universe? Cant say I do. I like both I have always been a Marvel guy. From the start they were much more committed to the shared world concept, which they progressively got better at, and most importantly a vastly larger % of their roster was relevant. And the films reflect exactly that. Just look how much we’ve had from Marvel, how many characters, and then consider how many characters we’re still highly anticipating. They’ve gotten this far without them at all because their entire roster is strong and meanwhile DC has a well sunk into the bat cave. It’s hard to get past two hands naming their characters before you start to struggle. That’s why I’ve always been a Marvel fan for their lived in active world where I feel like I could pick up any book and it counts. What we’ve seen on screen for 22 years now is how I’ve always viewed them.
