And feeling more energized again for the franchise. I think taking a little time off got me back in a more hyped state of mind.
I’ve got Loki going while I’m around the house. I’ve got 5 days off after my month long work tour. I watched Black Widow yesterday while I was doing laundry. The end of Shang Chi as well. I did No Way Home on the flight home,,, a bit of an ironic choice. I know the phase thing is becoming a bit passé but this is the first time we’ve had two projects from the same franchise in one phase since Iron Man 1&2, and nobody seems to think this is worth mentioning. Wellllll I suppose you might be able to count Ant Man 1 & 2,,, maybe, but they weren’t so close together. Anyway, I think I’m going to keep this rolling. Need to see Thor 4: More Thor soon and then Dr Strange is on streaming. I’m on a roll

I think I've actually liked more films in Phase 4 thus far than some of the earlier phases.
LOVED: Eternals
Really Liked: Black Widow
Liked: Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Doctor Strange in the MoM
Unfortunately for me, the next few movies to be released after these^ are ones I have no real interest in (I think probably the next one I may be interested in will be Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania). People complain about Phase 4, but I haven't minded it so far (and I have no problem with the films being 'experimental'/'deviating from the formula'. I do dread the idea of there being a 2 hour time restriction put on future MCU films, though (hopefully that was just a rumour and won't actually happen).

The break worked for me as well. It’s why I recommend it when people feel fatigued…honestly with any hobby or interest. Step away and let yourself want it again and you’ll probably find far more enjoyment than if you would’ve forced it or hate watched.

And my second watch of MOM - just along for the ride

MOM is an interesting watch because so much of what’s happening isn’t impacting the main line. It’s very much Age of Apocalypse in the comics where the results to have bleed over and yet the story is self contained in a completely different sense. Very curious.
Also is the “good” Wanda we see with the kids being possessed the same version every time we see her? And I’m still curious who she had kids with or how.

You can see wounds on her in the finale I believe, implying it’s the same Wanda from the Illuminati universe.

Just had Eternals on all day. 2nd viewing which has been the case with nearly all of my last week of Phase 4 rewatching. And as has been the case I enjoyed it more. I appreciated more the history laid out and epic nature of it. The characters even. And I’m not sure if this series goes anywhere or to what extent we’ll ever see any of them again, but even if we never did, I like this background of the celestials and what they do.

And of course the various leads at the end...the Blade/Black Knight stuff and Thanos brother.

Something cosmic anyway. I kind of feel like Guardians may get a semi reboot with a largely different team of as of yet unused members. Maybe. IDK. Silver surfer usually ends up with cosmic allies. So does Nova. Off chance it could relate to the fantastic four. So there are a few potential spots on top of just showing back up for a crossover and giving an “oh yeah we solved that Eternals issue” thing.

I definitely think depending on how well received the Fantastic Four movie is you could see a lot of things getting thrown their way. Reed Richards being one of the smartest men in the world an all. At least hopefully in this universe.

But… where can they put all that now without a sequel? Honestly anywhere. Aside from the celestial interrogating the remaining eternals on earth I don’t see any of their cliffhangers as needing to be eternal specific. The Black Knight could show up in the Blade film, the Eros stuff could tie together with any other plot thread, especially a cosmic one.

I’m not sure if or how the Celestials tie into the grand plans of Phase Four. The likely crossovers coming up will involve multiverse stuff so I imagine the Arishem thing was meant to be picked up in an Eternals sequel, so it’ll be hard to shoehorn into another movie. I just hope they don’t end up ignoring it entirely.

It's funny cos I was thinking of doing a Loki rewatch too. I'll do it soon, along with DS2, No Way Home and I guess thats it. Moon Knight would be on the list but thats still too recent
