FFC has been trying to get his passion project Megalopolis off the ground for decades. TEXT: He describes as a Roman epic set in a fictional utopian New York City. Despite being such a well-known director, Coppola has reported having difficulty finding outside funding sources for his latest projects, so he is planning on financing the $120 million movie mostly by himself. Since the film was announced, rumors have been circulating about who Coppola is going to cast in Megalopolis. While no cast has been confirmed, Cate Blanchett, Oscar Isaac, Forest Whitaker, Jessica Lange, Zendaya (star of Euphoria), Michelle Pfeiffer, and Jon Voight have all been discussed as possibilities. Duvall states in an interview with The Gate that Coppola is interested in casting Bale as the lead in Megalopolis. Bale and Duvall worked together in The Pale Blue Eye, Netflix's upcoming Gothic horror film. Coppola himself has not confirmed this information, but here is what Duvall had to say about Bale's potential casting: “Wonderful young actor. And in fact, I think Coppola approached him to play the lead in his new big movie…” screenrant.com/megalopolis-movie-cast-christian-bale-francis-ford-coppola/Maybe he should just let his daughter direct it instead and he serves as a producer.

Is he one of the ones blaming comic book movies for his recent inability to fund projects?
Instead of ya know...his last 20+ years of career stagnation?

Sounds like the Master wants to show the “thrill ride” directors what fur. Go for it! He can cast his nephew as the villain. Maybe Nic Cage…comic book nerd supreme…had talk with Unk up at the vineyard.

Megalopolis, the long-awaited passion project from Francis Ford Coppola, is the latest film to land an interim agreement from SAG-AFTRA. The film finished production earlier this year so it is unknown what the agreement would be used for, but with festival season ramping up it could be getting one in order to be sold in one of the markets, or potentially to screen at a festival, in which case it would need an agreement for publicity purposes.

With no release window yet revealed, Collider’s Steve Weintraub couldn’t help but ask the House of Gucci star if he had seen any footage from the production. “Mhmm, yeah,” Driver said in confirmation of at least catching bits and pieces of the film before neither confirming nor denying fully immersing himself in a rough cut. “I will not say. I’ll stop there,” he said with a laugh, “But it’s amazing.” collider.com/adam-driver-megalopolis-francis-ford-coppola/

“All I can say is I love the actors in it," said Coppola. "It’s unusual, and it’s never boring. Other than that, wait and see. It’s only going to be a few months and it’ll be out."
