When I signed on to Disney+, it promoted me to allow for TV-MA content on my account. They’ve boxed them into a category called “The Defenders Saga.”

So who thinks the Netflix cast are coming in as variants? Because I’m on the cusp of guaranteeing they’re just picking up years later and coming straight in, no variant explanation necessary. With perfectly good origins in place and no signs that Marvel is going to start with new origins, along with the same cast, I can’t see anything a variant explanation accomplishes. It’s not necessary. The origins as they are aren’t holding them back from doing anything that I can see. What say you?

I'd like to think they were lingering in the same universe, like maybe Luke Cage helped turn some cars over after the battle in New York. It would be an easy way to reintegrate the Defenders into the MCU since Avenger stuff is beyond their pay grade.
For all we know, Peter Parker has at least heard of Daredevil. Maybe his building got rocked the night of that earthquake in the first episode of The Defenders when The Hand was up to some shady shit.
If all the actors are willing to play ball, I don't see why they need to be varianted. For all I know, some of Stark's corporate competition is Danny Rand's company. I already think having MM show up in Spiderman as just a run of the mill lawyer already communicates the worlds are shared. If it was up in the air before, it is no more.

You see I’m in the, they don’t need to show any of these connections camp. As long as Matt and co show up, unless there is something big that makes it undeniably impossible for it to be connected, then it’s connected. And further I don’t see why they would need to write in anything that makes it undeniably impossible to be connected. The shows stand as perfectly serviceable origins. I don’t see what they’d want to severe that for. And beyond that, they’ve just reintroduced them so I can’t believe they’d do that only to say “nope they’re not actually the same. Surprise”. None of that adds up for me.

Way too many characters if they put them into the current MCU narrative along with the returning cast members. Daredevil has been pencilled in, as it were, but the other Marvel Noir characters? I hope not. They already screwed the pooch with the Eternals. The picture itself was okay, but considering the Earth and Humankind have been under threat of destruction from Red Skull, Loki, Ultron, Dormammu, Thanos, and now Kang the Conqueror, in the space of 13 years, Tiamat and the Eternals was overkill. If Dr Strange wasn’t the anchor character for the next phase, I’d probably loose interest. And they’d better bring Loki in for more than a few cameos.

Its a curious question how many we’ll see and to what extent. JJ is highly speculated to pop up in She Hulk. I’d like to get Frank back at some point. And maybe do a one off heroes for hire show with Danny and Luke. And I’d definitely love Iron Fist to show up in Shang Chi 2. DD in Spidey. Kingpin wherever. But again IDK how extensive it’ll get. I suspect they’ll be support characters for the most part as to enhance what they’re doing instead of your concern of over burdening the production line.

Can we appreciate the fact that we can now watch Luke Cage clap Jessica Jones cheeks on Disney+?
