And here I was hoping for kind of crossover between Natalie Portman in Vox Lux and Alicia Vikander in Ex Machina.

So, you thought Vox Sux? {Spoiler} What did you make of it? I didn't mind it. I've watched it twice. I was spoiled for that 'twist' at the end (which is a reveal that happens throughout voiceover by Willem Dafoe, of all things), so maybe knowing about it beforehand helped? Also, the final of the movie being her big performance didn't bother me like it did others (who obviously hate that kind of music). For a movie about a mega pop star, I'd expect nothing else than a big performance to justify her mega stardom. As for Natalie Portman's performance...yes, it was a bit 'broad' at times, but other actors tend to do this in movies and are lauded over it, so I personally had no problem with her 'going BIG' with her portrayal. Anyway, I found the film interesting enough (took me a little while when first watching to get that the actress playing Natalie's younger self was also playing her daughter).

Yeah the actress for the daughter. That was weird lol
